Fiorentina have completed the signing of 'keeper Artur Boruc from Celtic on a two-year deal, after the 30-year-old passed his medical at the Italian club earlier this morning.

The Polish international had been first-choice at Parkhead since joining from Legia Warsaw in 2005, but a dip in form under previous manager Tony Mowbray meant that his position in the starting XI had come increasingly under-threat from fellow Pole Lukasz Zaluska who joined from Dundee last summer.

So it's our first proper exit of the season, though not a particularly exciting one. Ali Al Habsi has been put out on loan to Wigan. A Wanderer since 2006, the Omanian keeper has made little impact on the side, mostly because Jussi Jaaskelainen is brilliant, and it's not like you sub a keeper out after 70 minutes if he's had a god game to give a youngster a shot.

Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi has recently clinched a season long loan move to Premier League rivals Wigan Athletic, but Wanderers boss Owen Coyle insists that the Oman keeper remains a part of his long-term plans.

Al-Habsi was clearly never going to get significant playing time at the Reebok Stadium with Finnish star Jussi Jaaskelainen in front of him, but the club have a 48-hour recall clause built into Al-Habsi's loan deal should anything happen to their number one.

He Can't Play

After our first home victory last weekend, this Saturday finds us on the road again, well just down the road to Wigan. I won't lie, after our performance against Stoke, I'm feeling pretty damn good about our team, and I'm not the only one. We put in a good performance, and most importantly we played all 90 minutes, instead of the 30 that Megson's Bolton regularly put in.

The score line may suggest a relatively easy day at the office but it was far from it.

Manchester United did beat Wigan by two goals at Old Trafford but in reality had to thank the referee for sending off two Wigan players, which gave United the upper hand in the closing stages.

With Wigan seemingly unable to beat Manchester United in the recent past and being the lowest scorers in the Premier League, most thought this would be a good opportunity to increase out goal difference and close in on those above.

Should everything go to plan, it looks like Leicester City are all but set to land Wigan 'keeper Chris Kirkland before the loan window closes tomorrow evening.

Kirkland, the proud owner of the most perfectly oblong torso in English football, has fallen behind on-loan Ali Al Habsi in the pecking order at the DW Stadium, and manager Roberto Martinez is keen for his secondary stopper to continue playing first-team football elsewhere until he gets another chance betwixt the sticks at his parent club:

Speaking to the Evening Post, Martinez confirmed that the move would have gone through earlier were it not for an untimely illness:

"Things have been delayed by Chris' bug, but we will be sitting down to have a chat about the situation.
