According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United could make a move for Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm, but any deal could hinge on whether or not United are willing to part with Park Ji-Sung, who is wanted by Bayern.

Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi has recently clinched a season long loan move to Premier League rivals Wigan Athletic, but Wanderers boss Owen Coyle insists that the Oman keeper remains a part of his long-term plans.

Al-Habsi was clearly never going to get significant playing time at the Reebok Stadium with Finnish star Jussi Jaaskelainen in front of him, but the club have a 48-hour recall clause built into Al-Habsi's loan deal should anything happen to their number one.

With the Premier League season up and running, European competitions moving forward and Domestic Cup ties popping up regularly, it seems as though there's matches every day of the week. Here's what happened in today's Second Round of the League Cup.

The Latics finally got some goals in their favor as they knocked-off League 1 outfit Hartlepool United.

Wigan Athletic picked up a much needed win in a tricky away trip to Tottenham Hotspur. Few people if any expected the Latics to take home all three points, but Hugo Rodallega's second half goal sealed a huge win for the away side. Ali Al Habsi was perhaps the man of the match for Wigan as he spurned a plethora of Tottenham chances.

GK Ali Al Habsi Wigan Athletic. On loan from Bolton Wanderers, made his league debut against Spurs on Saturday and was absolutely top drawer, previous two games they had let 10 goals in, but Al Habsi never looked like letting one in, stunning save after stunning save. Jermain Defoe is surely still scratching his head.

With much lower scoring matches and a few surprise results, this week's Team of the Week sees a cadre of players from unlikely sides populating the squad. The normal performers are still involved, but a few of the keen buys showed that maybe they deserve a more serious look. This week's side in a 4-3-3 and earned a lowly 111-points, but their value of £73.

We recently listed the best performing fantasy players in the Soccerlens Fantasy Football Game, and the top 10 featured a lot of familiar faces. Chelsea's Didier Drogba, Manchester United's Nani, and so on. Not a surprise, and most players know these players will deliver value. For example, Didier Drogba featured in 66% of all teams in week five.

It's been a tough start to the 2010-2011 campaign for the Latics after their first two matches alone, they were on zero points and at a minus-ten goal differential.

The score line may suggest a relatively easy day at the office but it was far from it.

Manchester United did beat Wigan by two goals at Old Trafford but in reality had to thank the referee for sending off two Wigan players, which gave United the upper hand in the closing stages.

With Wigan seemingly unable to beat Manchester United in the recent past and being the lowest scorers in the Premier League, most thought this would be a good opportunity to increase out goal difference and close in on those above.

Should everything go to plan, it looks like Leicester City are all but set to land Wigan 'keeper Chris Kirkland before the loan window closes tomorrow evening.

Kirkland, the proud owner of the most perfectly oblong torso in English football, has fallen behind on-loan Ali Al Habsi in the pecking order at the DW Stadium, and manager Roberto Martinez is keen for his secondary stopper to continue playing first-team football elsewhere until he gets another chance betwixt the sticks at his parent club:
