Facing their toughest challenge of the year, the U.S. Women's National Team tied Japan 1-1 Wednesday to open the prestigious 2014 Algarve Cup on a goalkeeper error forced by Sydney Leroux.

Thorns FC's Rachel Buehler had quite the match against Iceland in the USWNT's Algarve Cup showing this morning.

The defender wore the captain's armband in honor of her 100th cap. She also netted a goal, the team's first of the tournament, exactly two minutes into the second half.

The goal came when Buehler made a hard run in on a corner kick cross from Lauren Cheney, which Buehler headed into the left corner of the net.
