Pacheco's loan release has sparked alot of debate. Did the Red Bulls jump the gun releasing a young prospect? Or was this a Diego Jimenez situation all over again, with Pacheco playing the "See ya later" role?

You decide. Today's poll asks: Did RBNY do the right thing releasing Pacheco?

Who saw this coming?

RBR is reporting that Red Bull are terminating the loan deal for Alfredo Pacheco effective immediately. In a season full of unbelievable situations, this one proves to be just more frosting on the cake. Pacheco followed the route of other Osorio signings before him, showing displays of brilliance in the middle of mind boggling mistakes.

CONCACAF Gold Cup: Red Bulls Pacheco Leads El Salvador’s Remarkable Turnaround

Major League Soccer Talk at related • 2 views

Alfredo Pacheco is flying the MLS banner high in CONCACAF these days. At a time when less high profile, national team players from the region play in MLS than arguably any time in the league's history (look back at the hexagonal and World Cup qualifying for the 1998 and 2002 World Cups for comparison) Pacheco, of the New York Red Bulls, has helped lead El Salvador from the depth of CONCACAF existence, to the hexagonal and Gold Cup front runner in less than two years.

It was announced yesterday the New York Red Bulls signed Catherine Zeta-Jones Alfredo Pacheco from El Salvador's CD FAS. Apparently this is a very big signing for the scoreless club. Of course I had some witty input after seeing this picture of Pacheco on the Red Bulls page.

Have they always allowed women to play for the Red Bulls or are they making an exception this year?

The New York Red Bulls are going to have to wait a bit longer to see their new left back, Salvadoran national team defender Alfredo Pacheco.

Pacheco was kept from joining the Red Bulls due to travel document issues that did not allow him to travel to the United States. Pacheco has already signed his contract with the Red Bulls, which made him ineligible to travel to the United States on the tourist visa he was planning to come here on.

And those words are: Don't get cocky.

That's 4 wins in a row for the Galaxy, which is not the longest win streak since 2006. (The dismal 2007 season featured a 5 game winning streak from September through October.) All of a sudden the team is tied for third in the West and sitting pretty in a playoff spot (granted it has still played a game more than most of the West) and it is surging rather than falling.
