The United States confirmed today a Februrary 9th, 2011 friendly against Egypt to be held at
Cairo International Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.

confirmed schedule for 2011 includes World Cup attendee Chile at HDC on January 22nd in Carson and
now Egypt on February 3rd in Cairo.

While the current Development Academy players are here in Phoenix, the NCAA College Cup is coming
to a head. In conjunction, the Missouri Athletic Club has announced the semifinalists for the 2010
Hermann Award.
The list includes four Academy alums in Will Bruin (Indiana - St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri),
Matt Kassel (Maryland - New York Red Bulls), Ryan Kinne (Monmouth - Seacoast United) and Darlington
Nagbe (Akron - Internationals)
Former winners of the award, which is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer,
include Alexi Lalas, Tony Meola and current U.

Union
No movement for the Union (or in most of the rest of the league, for that matter, with only two
of the 35 available players being selected) in yesterday's Re-Entry Draft first round. That means
Fred and Chris Seitz have until Monday to renegotiate a new contract or opt to make themselves
available for next Wednesday's second round.

When Oguchi Onyewu parlayed his successful run at Standard Liege in Belgium into a contract with
Italian giants AC Milan, American soccer appeared to have taken a step forward. An American had
landed with a Champions League perennial, one of the world's most well known soccer institutions,
and in a league where exactly one other Yank had ever played before (Alexi Lalas at Padova way back
in the mid-90s); with all of those factors at play, it was hard not to see Gooch's Italian windfall
as a pretty big deal.
