Since John Ellinger was replaced by Jason Kreis two and a half seasons ago, RSL has been
anything but predictable. This season the Utah club was being tipped by many to win the Western
Conference, but instead have been fighting to stay relevant in the grueling MLS playoff race
throughout the summer.
Background: You knew I couldn't resist, didn't you? I have not hesitated to
criticize MLS, Becks, the Gals, and Alexi Lalas in the past. The Beckham Experiment has failed.
The hypothesis was gravely flawed. The fallout will be crushing. MLS always said they would be
different than the NASL.
Alexi Lalas asks a deep question on the Sitter. What do you think? Should Matt Reis have
gotten the red card?

This week has me thinking about tipping points. No, not Malcolm Gladwell's book, but rather
coaches, teams and the playoff races.
You know, before watching the highlights from the Denver leg of the San Jose/Colorado home and home
Wednesday night, I wondered what could possibly go worse for the EQuakes this year.
