AC Milan beat Genoa last night, 2-0 with both goals coming from wonder kid, Pato. The 18 year old
placed a well cushioned header in the back of the net for his first goal and the second was pure
class. Displaying his incredible pace, he left his marker for dead and although the first shot was

Alexandre Pato was injured after he was subjected to several tough challenges by the opponent's
defenders. Good strikers are a threat, and defenders would do anything just to thwart off the likes
of Pato. If Pato is not good at eluding bad defenders, i would expect him to retire even before he
reaches 30 years [.
Alexandre Pato is barely 18 years of age but he is already being touted as the Savior of AC Milan
this season. The Brazilian international youth team player was signed by the Italian giants in the
summer for £15.4million from Internacional but couldn't assimilate the player till now since
Italian football regulations bar non-EU players [.
Getty Images/Picapp.com 19 year old Alexandre Pato scored in the 49th in their last weekend's match
against Lazio. It was AC Milan's first win of the season after three games. Pato has now a total of
10 goals in 21 matches for AC Milan. A decent stats for a budding striker. This wonder kid will go
places.
Unfortunately for fans of the Azzurri, Italy´s EURO 2008 campaign is now little more than a
distant and shabby memory. While the nation licks its wounds, our resident Italian football
correspondant Henry N. consoles himself by taking one last look back at the 2007/2008 Serie A
campaign and compiling his Team of the Season: GK: Sebastian FREY (Fiorentina)
STARBUCKS FC: No, I'm not talking about the possibility of Seattle's expansion squad being named
after the biggest coffee chain in the country. I am, however, implying that Starbucks is looking
into (and take this with a Daily Mail grain of salt) an EPL club to invest in. Who may that be you
ask? Who [.
Brazil have never won Olympic gold in soccer. Perhaps they might change that this year.
Here's the squad Dunga has named to try to take home the prize. It's not a bad roster, though I
think Ronaldinho is less than fit.
Goalkeepers: Diego (Almeria, ESP), Renan (Internacional)
Defenders: Marcelo (Real Madrid, ESP), Ilsinho (Shakhtar Donetsk, UKR), Rafinha (Schalke 04, GER),
Thiago Silva (Fluminense), Alex Silva (Sao Paulo), Breno (Bayern Munich, GER).

Football phenomenon Alexandre Pato has become the much talk about player in Serie A since his
goal in his first Milan debut against Napoli in a 5-2 home victory on January 13, 2008. But, what
is so special about him?
Well, firstly, Pato has taken Pele's record as younger scorer in the history of official FIFA
competitions.
Sergio Aguero confirmed his status as one of the world's greatest talents when he sent Argentina
through to the Olympic final in a 3-0 triumph at the expense of Brazil. Dunga's team were
uninspiring for much of the semi-final but the convincing defeat ended their hopes of landing their
maiden gold medal in the men's football at the Olympics.
"Anti-Inter". A big phrase for Italian newspapers this week-end, as indeed Sunday's
Juventus vs. AC Milan presented itself as a revealing showdwown. One to determine the Nerazzurri's
real contender for the Scudetto race, one to decide historical bragging rights between two teams
who, in the past two decades, have won more Serie A champions titles [.
Bad news for Arsenal as they prepare to take on the mighty AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League on
Tuesday night. AC Milan have confirmed that their 18-year old Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato has
recovered from the knock that he sustained at the weekend during Milan's 1-1 draw with Lazio in the
Italian Serie A [.
The man who has made it a mission to bleach Brazil of the memories of the Tele Santana era and
has some success doing it his way with his system of prizing workman like players and sound
technical skills over artistry and attacking play is having a hard time motivating Brazil in the
World Cup qualifiers.
Deciding to go with countrymen Kaka and Alexandre Pato versus Elano and Jo, Ronaldinho has signed
with A.C. Milan upon completion of a physical. His contract runs through 2011.
Barcelona noted that the San Siro outfit will pay $33.4 million for the Brazilian playmaker.
Obviously, A.C. Milan felt that the transfer fee was needed to [.
With the memory of the Euro 08 tournament behind us, soccer fans have another tournament to look
forward to this summer, the 2008 Olympic games in China! First off let me say this: Soccer is in a
different position then other sports in the Olympics. For many sports such as swimming or track and
field, the Olympics is the ultimate tournament and test for the athletes to see who is the best.
Italian teams made 4 out of 4 in the UEFA Cup Thursday night. Indeed, in the round just before the
Group Stage all four Serie A sides in action recorded first-leg victories, some welcome news after
the difficulties Roma and Fiorentina encountered in the Champions League. Uefa.com reports. Partial
video highlights here.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka, Sneijder, Pirlo, Torres, Fabregas and Ferdinand may be the best
players in the world today. They have scored 42 goals, beat 50 players a game, be the current
holder of the aforementioned award or magically create clean sheets. None of them though, are as
talented as the ex Barcelona reserve who scraped together a paltry nine goals last year.
You know it's funny: it seems that whenever AC Milan are in trouble, all they need to lift their
spirits is a little Lazio "rejuvenation cure". Just around the same time last year, the
Rossoneri had just played an abysmal UEFA Champions League match against Celtic Glasgow (in which
Dida infamously faked being mortally hit [.
Another home fixture, another lamentable performance from Brazil, and yet another 0-0 in their own
backyard ...
It was an outstanding performance for Italian football in the first round of UEFA Cup action, as
all four Serie A clubs registered first-leg victory. AC Milan adjusting to a non-Champions
League season are full steam ahead winning 3 - 1 over FC Zürich. This triumph couldn't
have come at a better time for Rossoneri manager [.
Calling all Milanista, I got it wrong and admit it but what's more important is
understanding why. The key to today's victory was manager Ancelotti getting back
to basics. Take a look at the starting XI, leaving Ronaldinho and Andriy Shevchenko on the
bench was the right move. Ancelotti would instead go with young Pato and Marco
Borriello and a Pirlo-less midfield that supported the front [.
What is a handball? What is not a handball? How to define intention? These are just a few of the
questions to be raised, once again, after a doubtful night of refereeing in the Serie A. Torino vs.
Milan serves as a good example that even an experienced ref like Stefano Farina can sometimes
reduce [.
