The stadiums aren't ready, and neither is the home team, but at least Brazil's resident chef is on a roll... based on this photo of the buffet spread enjoyed by the selecao at their hotel earlier this week! Can you spot the Feijoada (black beans?) and the lovely carbs?
Brazil take on New Zealand at St. James Park on Wednesday having already qualified for the next
phase of the Olympics. Coach Mano Menezes is set to make some changes to the side that beat Belarus
3-1 on Sunday. Hulk has picked up a yellow and is likely to be saved for the knockout phase. Paulo
Henrique Ganso was pencilled in to start but has picked up a thigh strain and is doubtful.
Neil W. Blackmon A bit behind the flurry of post-match analysis, but perhaps that's okay for a more
analytic look at the United States' 4-1 loss to Brazil at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland
Wednesday night. The most certain (though maybe not the largest?) takeaway from the match? Brazil
is still really good, even if [.
First things first, let's be real: Brazil were better than the U.S. last night. They scored
four, two of which were very fine, and could have had more. Their first half pressure was
relentless, and several of their players showed just how highly skilled they are.
And yet...
And yet, the first two goals Brazil scored were cheap, and the U.
We're one day behind Offbeat Wednesday, but there's still plenty of crazy gossip from the world of football! Read on as Mario Balotelli proposes to his new girlfriend (with a foil ring!), Leo Messi gets inked, Pato welcomes Barbara Berlusconi to Brazil, Cassano's newborn inspiration and Sylvie van der Vaart wards off her super mean neighbours!
It's official! Alexandre Pato has sealed a move from AC Milan to World Champion Corinthians for a chance to represent Brazil at this year's Confederations Cup, and in the longer-term, make the World Cup squad.
Corinthians announced that they had signed the 23-year-old on a four-year deal last night, and paid €15 million (with future sale rights split into 60% for the club club and 40% for the player, should they decide to sell him, presumably to another European club) for the striker.
Before Christmas, AC Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani confirmed that both Robinho and Alexandre Pato have handed in transfer requests.
Yesterday, Milan President Silvio Berlusconi said that he hoped to "lose only one" out of Alexandre Pato and Robinho, but he also went on to reveal that he had turned down a €40m offer for Pato.
AC Milan's out-of-favor striker (yes, unfortunately it had to come to this!), Alexandre Pato, has been linked to a move back to Brazil. And the club in question? The recently-crowned World Club Cup champions, Corinthians, of course!
According to Italian reports, the 23-year-old wants a spot in Brazil's World Cup squad, and for that, he'll require a regular run of games (tough luck, with El Shaarawy around).
Málaga and Porto became the first teams to confirm their qualification into the knockout stages, but another draw for Manchester City all but ends their Champions League dreams for another season.
One of the big surprises in the Champions League this season has been the performance of La Liga's Malaga.
Borussia Dortmund didn't play like an underdog, or like a visitor, in pushing Real Madrid to the brink on Tuesday.
The German champions gave Jouse Mourinho's side all they could handle, and nearly grabbed all three points, but a Mesut Ozil goal in the 89th minute helped Real Madrid salvage a 2-2 draw at the Bernabeu.

There is good news for AC Milan this week as Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato is likely to return to the squad after a series of injuries that have kept him off the pitch since August. Pato could play in the coming game against Lazio on Oct.
It's time for your Weekly Gossip Special again! This week, read about Pilar Rubio and Sergio Ramos' secret reunion, Mario Balotelli's new apartment, Peter Crouch's night out, Pato and Barbara's boat ride and The Rooneys' new bundle of joy!
Finally, after weeks of 'hard work' and possible overtime from the Spanish paparazzi, new images of Sergio Ramos and TV host, Pilar Rubio, together have emerged.
Stephan El Shaarawy of AC Milan (Photo by Claudio Villa/Getty Images)
At only 19 years old, Stephan El Shaarawy is the best player on one of the world's most famous football clubs.
It is improbable to think of. A teenager, well, at least for the next couple weeks, is not only playing every game for AC Milan, a perennial power in world football.
Chelsea boss Roberto di Matteo was spotted at the
Udinese-Juventus game yesterday in a match Sebastien Giovinco the
shortest player at Euro 2012 (that needed to be said!)- scored a brace. The Turin side went on to
win 4-1, sending them to the top of the Serie A table, despite the fact that Antonio
Conte's ten-month ban has forced him to sit out all their upcoming games.
While last year there was hope and optimism ahead of the new season, this year there is nothing but
fear and anxiety. Amid yet more scandals and Italy's impressive run to the final of Euro 2012, it
has been a typically dramatic summer on the peninsula. But, as far as drama goes, Milan have taken

A guest post from FootballClubRankings.com's Mike Rizzo on how Milan will fare this coming season
in light of the dramatic changes that have swept through the club during this most difficult
summer. A word of warning, the outlook is not all that great.
Welcome to Offbeat Wednesday! This week, read about Real Madrid's preseason, Pato's fear of his
father-in-law, Silvio Berlusconi, Neymar's son and Mario Balotelli's baby mummy, Rafaella Fico, at
a spiritual retreat.
Sergio Ramos may look like a washed out Eurodance star in this
photo from Real Madrid's preseason-bound flight to the USA, but judging from his latest tattoo,
he's ready to roll with the rest of Los Blancos.
It finally came. The speech Milan fans have all been waiting for in this summer of discontent.
After an exodus of the club's two best players and a host of experienced campaigners, coupled with
the lack of major arrivals, Silvio Berlusconi's time had come. He had to say something. Milan fans
were hoping to hear [.
Should we take it as a sign, or is it just because Antonio Nocerino wanted Rino Gattuso's old
number and that no one else fancied it? Milan have announced squad numbers for the 2012-13 season.
As mentioned, Nocerino has taken number 8, Kevin Prince-Boateng has taken number 10 since Zlatan
Ibrahimovic will not be wanting [.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. With Cruzeiro dropping out of the August 4 doubleheader at Gillette Stadium,
Honduras club C.D. Olimpia has been tabbed as the replacements to face Italian giants A.C. Milan.
The friendly match will kick off at 4:30 p.m., followed by the regular season MLS match of the New
England Revolution vs.
Real Madrid's newest Galactico appears to be Luka Modric.
The Croatian playmaker is reportedly set to leave Tottenham to sign a four-year deal with Madrid
for a transfer fee in the range of $45 million to $55 million.
According to the report, Modric has agreed to personal terms with Madrid on the contract, but
Madrid's compensation to Tottenham still needs to be resolved.
No, no, no, no. I think that about sums up what will be the reactions of Milan fans around the
world if, or rather when, Thiago Silva's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain is confirmed. Monday has
seen a fury of rumours, reports and speculation which at times made it hard to know what was going
on. [...]
"Ibra resta. Thiago non lo so", said Adriano Galliani according to the Corriere Dello Sport. In
English; ‘Ibra stays and Thiago, I do not know'. Indeed, worrying words from Uncle Fester.
Speaking of his tthe circus surrounding our Brazilian maestro, Arrigo Sacchi, the former Milan boss
summed it up nicely: "Thiago Silva is the best [.
It can often be as exciting on the pitch, with all the highs and lows a good match can bring. I
talk of the transfer market, of course. This summer, however, may not a particularly enjoyable one
for Milan. The club's resistance to overtures for Robinho, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Pato and Thiago
Silva is set for [.
Why is there a halo around this man's perfectly-coiffed head whilst he stares into the camera? Obviously it's just a perfectly placed light, but there's every chance this photog has a LiveJournal account and is actually a 16 year old girl.
* Pato signed for Corinthians today. No rumblings of a strained bicep pulling on his new shirt.
The Selecao OlÃmpica arrived at the athletes village in London today
and in typical Brazilian style, began to suss out the place. Defender Marcelo, who spotted the bar
from miles away upon arrival, already knows where he'll be drinking this Friday... and it isn't
going to be at the local pub!
The United States lost 4-1 to Brazil on Wednesday night in front of 67,619 at FedEx Field in
Landover, MD. Brazil opened with Neymar scoring from the penalty spot in the 12th minute. They made
it 2-0 when Thiago Silva scored in the 26th. Herculez Gomez pulled a goal back for the United
States just before halftime, but it was 3-1 when Marcelo scored in the 52nd.

Lionel Messi missed a penalty kick and was denied by the post on another chance, but that still
do not stop him and Argentina from going into Germany and cruising to victory.
The Albiceleste extended their current winning streak to five games after picking up a 3-1 win
over Germany in  one of the marquee matches of Wednesday's busy international FIFA date.
Mais um jogo amistoso, foi disputado no dia 30/05/2012, na cidade de Landover-USA, onde jogaram as

In advance of the Confederations Cup this June, Brazil National Team manager Luiz Felipe Scolari released the list of 23 players that would make up Brazil's squad at the tournament.
Headlining the squad is Neymar, Hulk, Oscar, and Lucas, but what may be more interesting are the players who didn't get a call up for the international competition that begins on June 15.
In the aftermath of yet another embarrassing off-the-field moment involving Mario Balotelli, manager Roberto Mancini, directly involved in the incident, has backed the young striker to stay in the Manchester City squad.
Pictures surfaced yesterday afternoon of an altercation between Mancini and Balotelli during the morning training.
Image: SoloGossip.it. Pato of AC Milan has either been unceremoniously dumped or recently did some unceremonious dumping by/of his girlfriend, Barbara Berlusconi. And... scene. Really, Kickettes? Are you interested in this story at all? We thought we were, but we'd rather write another 10,000 entries on Sergio Ramos' love life.
Two first half goals from Giovani Dos Santos and Javier Hernandez were enough to see Mexico stun
Brazil 2-0 in front of almost 85,000 fans in Dallas today.
Dos Santos opened the scoring in the 21st minute when he picked up a pass from Pablo Barrera,
beat Brazilian defender Danilo and cleverly lobbed his shot over Santos goalkeeper Rafael.
