Arsenal are desperate to sign a striker this summer and the Gunners have set their sight on landing Alexandre Lacazette from French club Lyon. The Gunners have had an opening €35m bid rejected by the club but it seems the Gunners are looking to test Lyon’s resolve with an improved offer in the coming days.
Arsenal and Napoli could enter into a transfer tug of war over the signing of Argentine striker Mauro Icardi this summer. According to the Italian newspaper, Corriere dello Sport, the Gunners have already held a discussion with the player’s agent-cum-wife, and the speculation of him moving to the Emirates has been constant over the past few weeks.
2015-16 represented Arsenal’s best chance at winning the title. Their main rivals were going through turbulent times. However, Leicester City managed to show the class and confidence one would expect from the Gunners and got the Premier League trophy. One of the major reasons why Arsenal could not end their title drought was because of the striker problem.
Lyon have confirmed they have rejected a €35 million bid from Arsenal for their star player Alexandre Lacazette.
The 25-year-old has been in fine form for the Ligue 1 outfit in the last few seasons. In the 2015-16 campaign, he scored 23 goals in all competitions, which includes 21 goals in the league from 34 appearances.
The ‘forward / strike’ department is one area where Liverpool are stocked with enough talent and depth. Liverpool already have Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings, Divock Origi and Christian Benteke in their ranks but a new striker could still arrive at the club this summer.
Benteke has failed to impress Klopp and there is a possibility he could be sold this summer.

Well, well, well just when it looked like Alexandre Lacazette is settled at Lyon despite intense speculations linking him with a move to the Premier League, the French striker has given a stormy interview to L'Equipe.
If Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal manager was ever to play a game of Monopoly you would sense he would pass ‘GO' several times before making that first purchase, and there is no difference in his philosophy for buying players when it comes to the transfer market.
The transfer window has closed and Arsenal was the only club in the major European leagues not to buy a single outfield player.
