Lazio Lazio's transfer window saw few arrivals. Sporting director Igli Tare was able to bring in a
forward in Liverpool Montevideo's Emiliano Alfaro. The 23-year-old Uruguayan has played few games
and rarely impressed, by all accounts. (-ve) Another controversial transfer saw Antonio Candreva
arrive from Cesena (with Simone Del Nero going in the opposite direction).
The rumour mill may continue incessantly as it always does, but, for the time being no players will
be swapping kits. Instead, now is the time for coaches to start preparing their troops, both new
and old, for the business part of the season. It is already February and that mad month of May is

It has been an odd week for Milan. From the low that last Sunday's derby loss sank us to, the
club's fortunes rose steadily from one day to the next ending in triumphant fashion with a
convincing 3-0 win over Novara. The loss to the ‘Tinkerman's' Nerazzurri posed serious questions
over Max Allegri's men, from [.
I had the same feeling as those thousands of Milan fans at the San Siro on Sunday night who left
their seats early. A feeling of resignation, hopelessness and defeat even before the final whistle
was sounded. It was by no means the worst Milan performance ever, but, it was far from the best. We

Serie A returned with a bang at the weekend with some fantastic action. This week we got goals and
more goals which included seven goals between Lecce and AC Milan. Udinese finished on top of the
pile after a brilliant 3-0 over Novara. Here are the five top goals of the week 5. Alessandro Matri
Juventus – Genoa This was Alessandro Matri 2nd goal of the game and it was a brilliant goal.
Season Preview: Genoa Opening/Recap Genoa's tenth place finish last season could be viewed as a
disappointment from a number of angles. Most strikingly, the side had finished a place higher the
season prior and could have hoped to fight for a European spot last campaign. Out went Marco
Amelia and in came Eduardo to fill in between the sticks a move that should have turned out to be
much.
Serie A: 9 Young players to watch in 2011 is a post from: Just Football
by Marco Maioli
In a league often accused of not giving enough chances to the new promises of football, some of
the most interesting players are, actually, quite young.
The 23 year old Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, playing for Napoli, is the current topscorer
of Serie A; Udinese's Alexis Sanchez (born in 1988) and Palermo's Javier Pastore (1989) are now
world-famous footballers likely to sign soon for top European teams very soon and AC Milan's
Alexandre Pato doesn't need any introduction.
Yesterday Milan got their title challenge back on track with a comprehensive four nil victory over
Chievo. Clarence Seedorf got the ball rolling with his opener before Antonio Cassano opened his
account for the club with his first goal. In the second half Milan closed the game out with two
goals from Robinho both superbly [.

Milan's grip on top spot is now under real threat. A second consecutive draw has seen Napoli climb
to within three points whilst Inter are just five points behind with a game still in hand. The
Rossoneri have looked short of ideas in their last two matches and as a result have struggled to
create [..
Last night Milan played host to Lazio in a clash where the Rossoneri were eager to continue on in
their winning ways. It was an ill tempered match and one that from the start showed that only one
team was ready to play, and that was Milan. Lazio, on the other hand, were happy to [...]
Over the weekend Milan continued their push for the Scudetto with a deserving two nil victory over
minnows Cesena. In truth, had it not been for some poor finishing it could have been more as the
Rossoneri dominated possession and create numerous opportunities. But, in the end two goals was
enough to avenge the defeat at the hands of the Sea Horses earlier in the season.
On Wednesday afternoon Milan took to the field at the Sant Elia in Sardinia and to the surprise of
many observers, a certain Alexander Merkel was included amongst the starting eleven. Not since
Alexander Pato in 2008 have Milan fielded such a young player in the first team for a competitive
match. After three years, [.
