The seasons continue for former Wizards, while Yura Movsisyan started his league season this past
week, while Herculez Gomez started playing with his new club Pachuca. As always, if you have an
update on a former Wizards player, please let me know. Here's the rest of your former Wizards
update.
MLS
Preston Burpo - New England - Out with injury
Adam Cristman - DC United - Came off the bench and played 9 minutes in DC's 1-0 loss to Seattle.
Another former Wizards update this week. The biggest news this week for former Wizards all came out
today. First the news came out that former Wizards coach, Curt Onalfo was fired as head coach of DC
United. Based on the news that came out about the firing, Onalfo is going to get plenty of money.
The other news, is that former Wizards midfielder, Herculez Gomez is back with the national team as
he was called up for the upcoming friendly against Brazil.
I make no apologies for paying more attention these days to the World Cup than MLS, but it's a
gorgeous day in the South Bay to take in the Galaxy's final home appearance before the World Cup
break and a couple of road games; they won't play again in Carson until Independence Day.
Not only are the Galaxy and Chivas USA at opposite ends of the Western Conference they're on
opposite sides of the country with the Galaxy hosting the Houston Dynamo (5 p.
It's a slow week of former Wizards news this week. Lots of former Wizards were off this past week
with the World Cup kicking off. MLS only had two games in the past week. Herculez Gomez was about
to come on, but didn't get on in the first World Cup game for the US. The other news of this week
was that the US Open Cup kicked off with all the lower level US team's getting started yesterday.
On a night where there is plenty of midweek action in MLS, Superliga, USSF D-2, and PDL, lot of
action to be updated tomorrow, although some is currently updated. More and more European leagues
are going to be starting up in the next few weeks, so more former Wizards will be joining the list.
Here is this week's update.
Another week of former Wizards updates, along with some other information. More leagues are
starting up as Bolivia and Colombia are going again. Others are coming to an end as the PDL season
is almost over. One other bit of news is that former Wizards player, Khari Stephenson could be on
his way back to MLS as he's on trial with San Jose.
The MLS season is now over and a lot of former players will now not be updated right now. The
indoor season is picking up though and thanks to last Friday's game I now know there's another
former player playing for the Omaha Vipers, as Chris Brunt is on that team. Also there is a new
former player, Jonathan Leathers is now officially a former SKC player after having been selected
by Vancouver in the expansion draft.
It's time for another update on the former Wizards around the world. Lots of updates coming to this
with 4 MLS teams playing tonight in games in the league and CONCACAF Champion's League. It looks
like former Wizard, Carlos Marinelli has a new club as well, as it looks like he's finally signed
with Györi ETO of the Hungarian league, where he's been on trial for a while now.
Another week of former Wizards updates. First, former Wizards forward, Eddie Johnson, has been
called up to the national team for the up coming friendlies against Poland and Colombia. The USSF
Division 2 playoffs have started tonight with plenty of former Wizards involved as well. Here's the
rest of your former Wizards update.
Today the full list of players that will be available for Wednesday's Re-Entry Draft. Along with
Josh Wolff, whose contract option was not picked up, Jimmy Conrad and Aaron Hohlbein will be
available in the draft as well. Conrad and Hohlbein are both out of contract, for the draft it
means that both players can accept or reject a "bona fide" offer by the team that drafts them.
Another week for your former Wizards update. This week we see the return of Alex Zotinca to MLS as
he re-signed with Chivas USA and played the first 45 minutes in their loss to New York in his first
game back. Herculez Gomez continues his good run of form, scoring another goal for the US in their
win over Australia.

This week's former Wizards update is dominated by the second round of the US Open Cup. With MLS
teams still on a World Cup break, the minor leagues of the US have most of the action. Including
the second round of the US Open Cup. The biggest former Wizard appearance of the past week is
Herculez Gomez's two appearances for the US in the World Cup in the USA's second and third game of
the group phase.
MLS is back in full swing after their World Cup break and the US minor leagues are moving along as
well. European leagues that play the fall to spring schedule are starting to get started too, with
Yura Movsisyan and Randers FC kicking off their Europa League qualifying. More clubs around the
world will be starting play in July as well, including Mexico and Colombia.
Lots of news coming out this week for former Wizards. First Herculez Gomez got another cap for the
US national team in their 2-0 loss to Brazil. Speaking of national teams, Yura Movsisyan made a
commitment to play for the Armenian national team and got his first cap today against Iran. Another
former Wizards player that is on his way back to MLS is Khari Stephenson, who is on his way to San
Jose to play for the Earthquakes.
Back for another week of former Wizards updates. The USL division 2 playoffs start this weekend,
and all 5 former Wizards playing in the league made the playoffs this year. In other former Wizards
news, Carlos Marinelli is once again looking for a club after being released this offseason by
Aldosivi.

It was the sort of game that made you ask, how many converts to MLS didl this performance
provide?
The American seasons are starting to wind down. Only 1 former Wizards player in the USSF second
division is still playing as Amir Lowery and the Carolina Railhawks advanced to the semifinals.
Other former Wizards are enjoying their time with their national teams as Sunil Chhetri and Yura
Movsisyan both scored for their national teams in games this past week.
A typical match preview is tough to put together when two teams that have nothing to play
for are the combatants. Similar to the Fire, Chivas USA is suffering through a miserable season
with a new coach after qualifying for the playoffs in 2009. They also played on Wednesday night and
were victims of a Chris Wondolowski hat trick en route to a 3-0 defeat in San Jose.
The MLS season is winding down, the playoffs are starting this week. Will Hesmer's season though is
done as he went off injured late in the Crew's 3-1 win over Philadelphia. The USSF division 2
season ends this coming weekend, with Amir Lowery the only former Wizard still playing. Speaking of
the USSF division 2, Ryan Pore was named the MVP of the league this past week.
Those former Wizards that play in the "summer" leagues are starting to wind down, MLS is in the
playoff race, while Chris Konopka and Waterford United lost out on their promotion bid in the
playoffs. Overall, not a lot of former Wizards getting much time this past week in games. Here's
the rest of your former Wizards update.
Here is this week's former Wizards update, the MLS season is winding down. At least 1 former Wizard
is guaranteed to be on the winning MLS Cup team as the four remaining teams (and even the 8 playoff
teams) all have at least 1 former Wizards player. Here is your entire former Wizards update.

Due to big news yesterday I didn't get this out yesterday, but here is this week's former Wizards
(Sporting KC) update. First congrats to Chris Klein on a great career, as he is retiring after LA's
3-0 loss to Dallas in the Western Conference finals. Enjoy the rest of the former Wizards (Sporting
KC) update.
TSG's Jay Bell takes a look at the MLS club non-protected lists.
On Wednesday, Portland and Vancouver will take the first steps in truly building their MLS
teams. Each will select 10 players who they feel will best fit the direction and identity of the
team. Both look to be more ambitious than Philadelphia was last season, who went with youth.
The MLS season is now over so a lot more players will be falling off the list now for the time
being. Some other former SKC players are continuing to play, the indoor season is in full swing
right now. Also some news out of Europe, Chris Konopka has left Ireland and is now on trial with
Polish league leaders, Jagiellonia Bialystok.
I have no idea how big a deal this is and I get the impression MLS doesn't either.
I'm sure it was essentially a sop to the players under the new labor agreement.
For what it's worth, Jovan Kirovski and Dema Kovalenko for the Galaxy are involved and Marcelo
Saragosa and Alex Zotinca (hands up all those who even knew he was on the club's roster) for Chivas
USA.
