I spend much time discussing football with fans of other teams. Inevitably we play the "but he
would never play in our team "game, and this could be the first of "How many Arsenal players would
get in ......... first team"?
Let us look at the current leaders of the PL, Man Utd, taking what I believe to be Mr Wenger's
first choice 11 v Aaron's view of the SAF's first choice.

He may only be nineteen but Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is already a big character according
to team-mate Alex Song. Speaking to BBC, the Cameroon International explained that the Englishman
may still be a young man ...
Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie has claimed that his teammates outplayed Blackburn in
Saturday's 4-3 defeat and he is still shocked that Steve Kean's struggling outfit was able to score
four times.
Although the Dutchman acknowledged the need to stop conceding soft goals in order to rebound
quickly from a third defeat in only five Premier League matches, he reminded the Rovers that they
were fortunate to emerge as the winning side at Ewood Park.
Appreciation
The legends descended on the hallowed turf of the Grove. This is probably the first time that
I've ever used hallowed turf and new-ish stadium in the same sentence. For me (and I'm sure many
others too), Highbury remained the truly real Arsenal stadium. However, with each match/season and
the growing memories, not forgetting the continual Arsenalisation of the stadium, Emirates Stadium
is turning into home.
Arsenal midfielder Alex Song believes the Gunners are to change their mentality if they are to end
their six-year trophyless crisis. Most likely referring to Thomas Vermaelen and captain Cesc
Fabregas, the Cameroon International told the ...
Newcastle United Joey Barton has been in all of the headlines today after his scuffle with
Arsenal's sent-off debutant Gervinho. The Newcastle hothead is now hitting back at his critics,
saying that there is a strong case of double standards after his role in getting Gervinho sent off
today at St.
Arsene Wenger seemed to say the other day that he was definitely going to be trying to buy a new
centre-back for Arsenal this month, but now it seems that he has back-tracked, and has said on the
official Arsenal site that he doesn't really one after all! But of course IF a top-class defender
with [.
So Barcelona won the Champions League final quite easily.
I think it goes to prove that this year we're much better than United seeing as we actually beat
Barcelona. Forget their league title, the true measure of a team is how they fare against the best
team in the world, and we beat them 2-1 and they had to pay UEFA to send off one of our men to beat
us in the second leg.
There are many things you can be sure of in life.
The sun will come up. The sun will go down.
Grass is green. The sky is blue.
Booze is good. Hangovers are bad.
Bob Pires is dreamy. Ryan Shawcross is a brutal caveman.
Phil Collins is a stupendous cunt. And every summer the Catalan press will writes stories about
wanting our best players.

I've been thinking over the last few days about the season just gone, the season before that and
the season before that. A whole lot of thinking you might wonder, well, I didn't sleep particularly
well on Sunday night, so I had plenty of time.
Some of the best results of the season started with one player doing everything we needed him to
do, he was on his game and everyone saw the difference he can make.
Yes, we're kicking off the first out of three EPL Pre-Season Videos on Futbolita.TV with our
Arsenal Adventure! So what if Cesc didn't come on tour? And did you
really think Nasri
was sulking the whole time? Absolutely not! The boys still had a blast in Malaysia (and so did we,
despite the traffic jams!
Newcastle United deny that their players were out of control during Saturday's bust-up with
Arsenal. It appears Newcastle United aren't happy about the charges the FA levied after the fracas
during Saturday's game against Arsenal. The statement from the FA reads: "Newcastle United and
Arsenal have been charged by The FA with failing to control [.
Big responsibility on his shoulders
Time to wipe the slate clean. Not something which can be easily said, especially when the season
has already been under way for a couple of weeks. However, that is also precisely the reason why we
could regard this upcoming weekend's match as the start "of the star" of the season for Arsenal
Football Club.
The captain meeting his future team mate?
First Champions League match out of the way then. Draw was the final result and it was a fair
reflection on the game. Both sides went about with their usual tactics but the home side had the
upper hand of things in most parts. Like I said yesterday, I would take a draw if it was given to
me.
After they battled past Olympiacos on Wednesday, Arsenal will now concentrate on Sunday's away game
against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. Speaking on Wednesday night, midfielder Alex Song
explained that the North London derby will ...
Arsenal midfielder Alex Song confessed that he is not feeling good after Sunday's North London
Derby defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. Speaking to the Club's official website, the Cameroon
International explained that the Gunners had an opportunity ...
Arsenal midfielder Alex Song revealed that he always knew that Gervinho would become a big asset
for the Gunners, this season. Gervinho's impact at Arsenal was one to remember as he scored a brace
in a ...
Arsenal midfielder Alex Song admitted that the fantastic run leading to Robin van Persie's goal on
Wednesday was not planned. Speaking to Arsenal Player after the game, the Cameroon International
explained that he decided to go ...
Come on Robin be honest, you can't dribble past 4 players can you?
One more match before the return of Samir Na$ri to the Grove. Not as if Arsene Wenger sees
Manchester City as any kind of a threat. Such is the confidence of the team at the moment, the
manager looks to put his second string side to face the league leader.
Song needs become our invincible man
As we past the halfway mark of league games played, Arsenal are sitting pretty in 3rd position.
Albeit 2 points behind Manchester United and Manchester City having played a game more than the
former and a game less than the latter. We also have a very healthy goal difference of plus 20,
just 3 short of leaders United.
You have to love living in the internet age. Never have we been more connected with people
around the world and never have we been able to have such immediate access to information. Of
course this means that we also have the ability to share our thoughts in real time and let our
opinions be known to so many more people.
Arsenal midfielder Alex Song confessed Chelsea's Michael Essien was a role model when the two
played for Bastia six years ago. On the now-Chelsea man, the Cameroon International explained he
used to watch him play in ...
If Saturday's performance proved anything, it was surely that Arsène Wenger's plan to bring
Barca-style football to North London is succeeding.
It's no secret that the boss admires the style and manner with which the Catalans play. Now he
has shamelessly lifted their football manual (or should that be Manuel?
At the end of 45 minutes I knew the way I should feel. Arsenal have just battered their
opponents, created chance after chance, seen the keeper pull off a string of saves, yet go in just
one goal up.
The way I'm supposed to think is 'Oh shit. Now what's going to happen is they're going to get a
scabby goal from a corner or free kick, we'll dominate again but won't be able to score, we'll
bring on Bendtner and Arshavin who will clash heads causing each other a massive subdural hematoma,
then we'll miss a penalty, hit the post a few times and drop two points".

Unbelievably, I think I have unearthed a quite brilliant observation. Now bear with me, and if
someone is reading this to you, I don't mean "let's get naked".
Anyone else noticed improvements in the performances of JD and Alex Song this season.
World's best in his pomp (no, I don't mean Zenden)
Now that Wolverhampton is out of the way, there is nothing in front of us but Barcelona. Though,
in actual fact, this games has captured our imagination since the draw was first made in December
last year. This will be a repeat of the match-up from last season's edition of Champions
League.
1. Wow, an overhyped match that actually lived up to our ridiculous expectations! Sexy football and
and an exciting storyline. 2. Pep Guardiola got a brief insight into managing a 'normal' team. The
Barcelona boss was already celebrating when Lionel Messi went one-on-one with Wojciech Szczesny,
only for the Argentine to clip the ball wide.
With Arsenal still fighting in all four competitions this season, adding yet another fixture to the
month of March is not the ideal scenario as midfielder Alex Song explained to the Club's official
website. Speaking ...
Great post by Neal, exploding some of the easy myths around Arsenal. And great comments everyone.
I think you've hit on some interesting points. Let me add my $0.02: Mia Hamm First of all, if
you don't know... now you know. Song He's unique amongst the Arsenal midfield that he's comfortable
as a ball-winner.
Lucky Arsenal? This season we have drawn Newcastle and Spurs away in the Carling Cup, Barcelona
in the CL, and now Man Utd away in the FA Cup. I can only imagine Mr Wenger has spent the season
walking under ladders and crossing the path of black cats. No-one wanted this fixture, neither
Arsenal who are coming off the back of an emotional defeat at Camp Nou nor Man Utd, who are facing
Marseilles in an important contest on Weds.
Wenger held his pre-match press conference today. Most of the information is not new, but rather
just confirmed what most of us have been speculating. Vermaelen is out for the season and Djourou
is out for at least six weeks. That means we really only have Kos and Squillaci for the run-in,
plus Iggy, who I assume will be promoted to the first team bench, and Song, who really should only
be used as a centreback in an emergency as his presence is sorely needed in the midfield.
Arsene Wenger had his pre-Blackpool press conference today. It looks like most of the
journalists are saving post-match comments that they got for the papers tomorrow, but it seems like
we will have a lot of big quotes to chew over. I watched the presser "as live" on ATVO, so I'll try
to sum up what we do know for now.
Sorry all, Rasp and I are really busy today, we haven't been offered a match report but
BigRaddy wrote this before he went away so it would be churlish not to use it for discussion today
following last night's thrilling 3-3 at the lane.
We
had some fun recently with a post discussing how many Man Utd players would fit into our team
playing in the same formation as Mr Wenger employs.

They arrived battered, bruised, down trodden and weary, yearning for the season to end and for
the summer holidays to start so they can relax and think about how close we have come again to the
title to see it ebb away at the death, to plan the changes required, and that's just the fans.
Arsenal midfielder Alex Song confessed it was not easy to grow up without a father figure and that
his objective as a child was to help his struggling family. Speaking to BBC, the Cameroon
International spoke ...
Last but not the least - Alex Song
Who is the most important player at Arsenal FC?
Its not the luckless but always loyal Almunia.
Its not the remarkably consistent Bacary Sagna.
Its not the El Capitan.
Its not the Verminator.
Its not K-OS.
Its not our inhouse metalhead TR7.
According to a report this morning Inter Milan have decided that they want Alex Song to shore up
their midfield next season. The Italian giants are aware that Song still has three years left on
his contract at Arsenal, but their coach Leonardo has told the Inter bosses to do what they can to
bring [.
