As you probably weren't aware, Witton Albion downed Farsley in the play-off semi-final of the
Evo-Stik NPL Division One North on Tuesday evening winning 3-0 to put themselves within one game
of returning to the Northern Premier League's top tier for the first time in three years.
Chelsea against Barcelona wasn't the only big semi-final being played last night. Oh no, down in
the Evo-Stik League Division One Witton Albion were trouncing Farsley Celtic 3-0 to make it to the
play-off final. The matchday experience has been given the sort of arty treatment not usually
afforded to the Evo-Stik League by Witton [.

But I'm distracted by Sir Alex Ferguson's upcoming 25th anniversary as manager of Manchester
United. A phenomena. From Govan.
The SPL didn't even exist 25 years ago. We must have had football though, whatever they try and
tell us.
Must have had it because I'm sure Alex Ferguson left a top flight Scottish club to take over a top
flight English club 25 years ago.
It's almost ten years since Franck Sauzée left Easter Road, a turbulent 69 days of management
bringing a passionate Leith love affair to an end.
Yet he's still revered by the green and white hordes (not all, but a hefty number). Gone but ever
more cherished.
