How convoluted are the politics surrounding this Thursday's FIFA vote to award the hosts for World
Cups 2018 and '22? Well, the first person I saw upon leaving airport customs here was Bora
Milutinovic, the peripatetic Serbian-born, Mexican-based coach who managed the U.S. at World Cup
'94.

POLOKWANE, SOUTH AFRICA JUNE 17: Javier Aguirre head coach of Mexico issues instructions from the
sideline during the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa Group A match between France and Mexico at the
Peter Mokaba Stadium on June 17, 2010 in Polokwane, South Africa.
Manchester United left back Patrice Evra has launched another scathing attack on Arsenal ahead
of Monday's crucial Premier League clash between the two heavyweights at Old Trafford.
The French international, who has previously dubbed Arsene Wenger's team as
"babies" and "shameful", suggested that "nobody will remember
them in 10 years time" due to the recent lack of silverware in the Emirates Stadium trophy
cabinet.
The news that Qatar has won the right to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup appears to have been met
with widespread cynicism and criticism by The West; from the allegations of bribery and corruption
to concerns over the tiny Arab state's strict laws, extreme heat, and lack of football
heritage.
Arsenal fans have spent the past day coming to this blog saying that their club and their fans
are way too classy to sing the type of songs sections of Manchester United fans sing at
Arsene Wenger.
They of course fail to acknowledge sections of their fans replicate the hissing noise of the gas
chambers when they play Tottenham Hotspur.
The snood epidemic has gotten more billing than any foreign export in the Premier League since,
well, the last one. But it will have no place at Manchester United, where Sir Alex Ferguson has
laid down the law and firmly declared Old Trafford a snood-less football club. Because "real men
don't wear things like that".
LONDON, England — Heavy snow and freezing temperatures wreaked havoc with the Premier League on
Saturday, all but wiping out the fixture list and putting the title race on ice. Arsenal were
denied the chance to regain top spot after their match against Stoke at the Emirates was one of
four matches to be called [.

Tonight, David Beckham will receive a lifetime achievement award from the BBC. There are few
people that would argue that David Beckham has not achieved a lot in his lifetime. Both on and
off the field, he has left a dent not only on the game but he has also helped to shape the broader
cultural context surrounding the sport.

Sir Alex Ferguson has warned the Daily Press not to twist his words to sell
papers or their out. He's already stood up to the BBC Lies!
As the New Year approaches this seasons title race is one of the most open in the history of the
Premier League. No one is showing form that suggests they will run away with it and five teams will
seriously still believe that could become Champions come the end of the season. Let's take a look
at the contenders.
You know Romelu Lukaku, even if you don't know Romelu Lukaku.
He's 'that kid' who comes through every generation, titillating the masses and spawning requests
from all to get a closer look at the old birth certificate, as no one can possibly be that big,
that strong, that fast and that good while also being that damn young.
Former Manchester United and England defender Viv Anderson has launched a scathing attack on
Manchester United's current youth players, questioning whether or not they're up to United
standard. Anderson witnessed Sir Alex Ferguson's latest batch of youngsters crash out of the
Carling Cup quarterfinals, and Avram Grant's West Ham side thoroughly taught young Red Devils such
as Bebe and Federico Macheda a lesson amidst the snowy weather at Upton Park.
Croatian Andrea Pirlo. Plays literally anywhere in midfield. In fact, the Football Manager boffins
tried to label him as ‘DM/M/AMLRC' before getting wildly confused and having to take a quick
time-out. Signed for Spurs during the hideous Ramos/Comolli era but now that he's turned out to be
quite good, it's probably better to forget that fact.
Sir Alex Ferguson believes the lower clubs are condensing the Premier League into a much tighter
competition.

Arsene Wenger: a big fan of the invisible chair
In November 2009 we published a post about how Man Utd had urged its own fans to stop with the
"Sit down you paedophile" chant, aimed at Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
More than one year on, it's the same old story, as Fergie personally calls for an end to the
chant.
MANCHESTER, England Sir Alex Ferguson has taken time out from match preparations to welcome the
Chilean miners to a Manchester United training session. A group of 26 of the 33 rescued miners
visited the club's Carrington training ground ahead of the Premier League match against Arsenal.

Strange as it may seem to us on the outside, but the latest fad sweeping through the boardrooms
of the Premier League appears to be the practice of unexpectedly sacking otherwise comfortable
managers that have done absolutely nothing wrong then, to put the icing on the proverbial dog turd,
you publicly cite 'shifting club ambitions' for the given individual's dismissal.
Sitting watching the United v Arsenal game last night highlighted one thing for me and that is the
fact that Chelsea should have nothing to fear in the next two games. It was a good game last night
but there were two very important things to note last night. Arsenal, as against us couldn't find
their way through and play that killer pass forward and United looked leggy and tired in the second
half even though they didn't play in the Premier League last week.
Arsenal's defeat against Manchester United last Monday left a bitter taste for the Gunners'
players as the lost once gain gave them a bad records against big teams this season following
previous failure against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs.
One of the reasons that many believes caused Arsene Wenger's side failure in big games is their
inability to play other style aside from their fast-flowing football, this problem has also been
recognized by one of their current star, Samir Nasri.
Four EPL teams surely have random feelings about the results of the knock out stage drawing this
Friday as Manchester United along with Chelsea arguably have an easier task on paper compared with
Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal.
United were picked to meet French champion Marseille, the Blues will take on the surprise
qualifier, FC Copenhagen, Spurs are facing the current Serie A leader, Ac Milan, while Arsenal gets
another repeat match with Fc Barcelona.
Weather permitting, Manchester United will welcome Sunderland to Old Trafford for a Boxing Day
clash on Sunday afternoon. And though Sir Alex Ferguson has convincingly had the upper hand on
Steve Bruce during the former United defender's managerial career, Sunday's showdown shapes up to
be a severe test for the league leaders.
In news that will bring a superior smirk to the faces of many a United fan, news has emerged that,
after six months in the job, Rafael Benitez has been sacked by Inter Milan, the same Inter
Milan...

Sir Alex Ferguson took the decision to drop Dimitar Berbatov for Wayne Rooney when Manchester
United played Arsenal. Rooney has scored just two goals in all competitions since March, both from
the penalty spot, whilst Dimitar Berbatov is the Premier League's top scorer.
Ferguson has conceded that sometimes he does have doubts about his bold decisions but has to go
with his feelings over what will get the team a win.
The thing about Christmas gifts is that they often tell you more about the giver than the
receiver.
Like when your wife gets you a set of DIY tools even though the only thing that's 'handy' about
you is the pair of appendages at the end of your wrists. Basically, she's telling you to fix the
broken curtain rail, or else.
Many footballers are blessed with great pace; however the kind we are talking about is behind
the wheel. We have assembled a squad of professional players who have been caught speeding in their
high priced luxury cars, and have been banned or fined as a result.
Manager: Starting with Sir Alex Ferguson, who has led Manchester United to 11 league
titles, 5 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, 9 Charity shields, 2 Champion's Leagues, 1 UEFA cup winners cup,
1 intercontinental cup and the FIFA club world cup – however he has been caught speeding on the
hard shoulder of a motorway, so heads up our squad.
Much has been said of Birmingham City's dramatic equalizer against Manchester United this
evening. Sir Alex Ferguson has already weighed in on the topic, criticizing the officials for
missing more than one infraction on the goal. The United boss believed that not only did Nikola
Zigic foul Rio Ferdinand, but the Scot said the hand ball was clear.
Manchester United regained top spot in the Premier League on Tuesday but there were no celebrations
from Alex Ferguson after his team gave up another late goal in a 1-1 draw at Birmingham City.
Earlier Mario Balotelli hit a hat-trick, including two penalties, to help Manchester City beat
Aston Villa 4-0 and briefly occupy top spot.
Alan Smith was much loved by our fans because of the effort he put in to every game. His tackles
would come flying in, he would track down any ball and he was rewarded with his name being sung
week after week.
However, he was supposed to be a striker and the best he could manage was 6 goals in 31 games (9
goals in 41 games in all competitions).

The ineffable presence of English cup football reigned supreme at Upton Park as Avram Grant, the
Hebrew Hammer himself, received four of his eight gifts for Hanukkah early. The Hammers
somehow smashed four goals into the Manchester United net and ended Sir Alex Ferguson's side's
29-match unbeaten run.

Manchester United manager (and he of the charming red beanie) Sir Alex Ferguson
has admitted to being taken aback by the manner in which his side were soundly whipped by West Ham
in the Carling Cup at a snow-bound Upton Park last night surrendering their unbeaten start to the
season and their 29-game unbeaten run in the process.
United Youngsters Fail to Fill Boots
Alex Ferguson said yesterday morning that the nucleus of youngsters at his disposal, and indeed
who started last night's humiliation at the hands of West Ham United, was ‘the future of
Manchester United'.
In Manchester United's heaviest defeat for over nine years, Ferguson had selected a blend of
youth and enthusiasm, with the focus falling on those youngsters aiming to fill the illustrious
boots of Messrs Van der Sar, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.

We're going for a double header today, team.
As you may know, last night's Carling Cup fixtures (Arsenal vs Wigan Athletic & West Ham vs
Manchester United) took place in the English capital, which is currently experiencing conditions
more usually confined to the Arctic circle.
Yes folks... as unbelievable as it may seem Manchester United were beaten by West Ham United in
the Carling Cup quarter-final last night. But not just beaten, thrashed 4-0 by the team stuck at
the foot of the Premier League... only Real Madrid can claim to have had a worse week.
Thanks to goals from former United player Jonathan Spector and the former Liverpool target
Carlton Cole put paid to the defence of the Carling Cup and also ended United's 29-game unbeaten
run in all competitions.
David Beckham has insisted he will not be joining Everton on loan this winter and who can blame
him. This was supposed to be the season Everton really pushed for the top 4, something which was
heavily advocated in the summer by Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger. But as other teams have
improved, Everton seem to have gone backwards.

When United play Chelsea in a few weeks time, Sir Alex Ferguson will be able to celebrate
becoming the longest serving Manchester United manager. With 24 years, one month and 14 days in
charge, Fergie will have been at the club for one day longer than Sir Matt Busby in both his stints
with the club.
Sir Alex Ferguson will become the longest-serving manager in Manchester United's history this
month, passing Sir Matt Busby in the club's record books and predicting that the achievement will
never be bettered, almost a quarter of a century since arriving at Old Trafford.
When Ferguson takes his place in the dugout for the match at Chelsea on 19 December he will have
been in charge of the club for 24 years, one month and 14 days, one more than Busby's total during
two stints – from October 1945 to January 1969 and December 1970 to June 1971.
Old Trafford, which will see some of the football from the Olympics in 2012 and the rugby from
the 2015 World Cup,won't be hosting any World Cup games in 2018 and it was announced this afternoon
that Russia won.
After all his efforts in the campaign, will we now see effigies of David Beckham hanging from
pubs in the East End again?
