At the least the weather was beautiful. In an ugly game marred by 5 yellow cards and 5 ejections, the Union outclassed the New York Cosmos and erased their dream of the CONCACAF Champions League with a 2-1 extra time win.

After failing to clinch the NASL Fall Season title last week, the New York Cosmos will have another chance to put the season to bed when they visit Toyota Field to battle the San Antonio Scorpios on Saturday (8:30 p.m. WATCH HERE).

It's taken longer than expected, but the New York Cosmos could finally see their likely first-choice forward back in action on Saturday evening at home against the Carolina RailHawks.

The first-place New York Cosmos have won three successive matches and are six-games unbeaten, but they're still not at 100 percent within the squad.

Cosmos head coach Giovanni Savarese confirmed to reporters following practice that Hunter Gorskie has been ruled out for the second consecutive Cosmos game, which is a trip to Blaine, Minnesota on Saturday to face Manny Lagos and Minnesota United FC.

Now more than two weeks into their season, the New York Cosmos are able to relax.
