WOMEN
Metro State 1, Colorado State-Pueblo 0: What a big difference from Friday. After pummeling
the Colorado School of Mines at home two days earlier, the Roadrunners managed only a 1-0 victory
over Colorado State-Pueblo 1-0 on the road Sunday.
Aleah DeGeneres scored on a cross from Madison McQuilliams in the 103rd minute to give No. 20
Metro State a 3-2 victory over No. 11 Fort Lewis on Friday afternoon at Auraria Field. It was the
first loss of the season for Fort Lewis and marked the first time the Skyhawks had allowed a goal
in 2009.
The No. 13 Metropolitan State College women's soccer team, led by Becca Mays' three goals,
cruised to a 5-1 victory over Colorado-Colorado Springs on Friday evening in Colorado Springs. The
Roadrunners improved to 8-1-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while
UCCS dropped to 2-4-0, 1-4-0 in conference.
Freshman forward Brittany Henry and junior Laura Leber scored as the Minnesota State women's
soccer team knocked off Metropolitan State College 2-1 on Friday in Denver.
The Mavericks avenged a 1-0 loss to Metro State that ended their season last year in the NCAA
tournament.
Henry broke a scoreless tie in the 51st minute with an assist from senior Abby Maxson.
The University of Colorado soccer team sent its seniors out on good note Friday afternoon at
Prentup Field with a 2-0 victory over Texas Tech in CU's final regular-season game.
Colorado finishes the regular season 9-9, 6-4-0 in the Big 12, while the Red Raiders fall to
8-8-3 overall and 3-4-3 in conference.
