Morecambe is a resort town and civil parish within the City of Lancaster in Lancashire, England. It
faces into Morecambe Bay. In 1889 the villages of Bare, Poulton-le-Sands and Torrisholme
collectively became known as Morecambe, though those areas of Morecambe are still known by their
original names.

League Two Saturday 24th April 2010
Two fairly evenly matched teams worked hard and made a scrap of it on a sunny afternoon at Whaddon
Road. The season is almost done with, survival seems statistically probable (but not certain) and
it's been a roller-coaster ride. We need to bury this season.
With Boro's league season over and done with and the FA Trophy Final not until next weekend,
it's been a rare 2 days off, so I've been looking at the results in some of the other leagues and
getting a preview of what life in League 2 will be like next season. League's 1 and 2 played out
their penultimate games of the season yesterday, while today was the final day in the
Championship.

With a 1-0 lead from the first leg, the safe money was always on Rotherham to make it to
Wembley.
There isn't that much news about really so I thought it would be interesting to have a look
around the web to see where the Boro managers of the past are now and what they have been getting
up to since their departure from Broadhall Way.
Paul Fairclough
Paul Fairclough's second spell in charge of Stevenage ended in 2002 when Phil Wallace relieved
him of his duties and appointed Wayne Turner as his replacement.
It was a story that was mentioned last week by the local paper in Peterborough, but the Posh
supremo Barry Fry has again confirmed that four clubs are after striker Scott Rendell, one of which
is Stevenage. Burton Albion, Wycombe and Torquay, where he spent last season on loan, are also
interested in his signature.
It will be the battle of the cup finalists at the beginning of August as FA Cup losers
Portsmouth travel to Hertfordshire to take on the FA Trophy finalists Stevenage in the 1st round of
the Carling Cup. While Boro were enjoying their promotion to the football league, opponents Pompey
were enduring a woeful season in the Premier League.
Three strikers were on show yesterday evening against Histon as Graham Westley looks to
strengthen his attacking options. Omer Riza started and set up Yemi Odubade for the first goal,
while Warren McBean and Chris Dickson came on in the second half to try and show what they can
do.
Warren McBean
McBean started his career at Barnet in the year they won promotion to the football league.
The pre-season schedule continued at full pace last night as Boro travelled to Essex to play
Chelmsford City of the Blue Square South. Stevenage were on a high going into the game after 2 good
wins against Yeovil and Histon respectively, but they were brought back to earth with a bump after
a scrappy encounter against the Clarets.
When it became clear that the subject of this website had to expand beyond the Championship, our
main concern was whether we would be able to cover 'the likes of Aldershot' with the same
enthusiasm as, say, West Brom or Reading. Reluctant to spend hours researching clubs and players
that we weren't familiar with, Lanterne Rouge and I agonised over which direction the site should
take before

The Shots se han movido mucho en esta pretemporada, han salido 6 jugadores:Kirk Hudson al Brentford

los otros 4 jugadores que fueron transferidos salieron por una tasa de fichaje 0.
Initial details of this season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy have been announced. The draw for the
1st round will be shown live on Soccer AM on the 14th August 2010, while the games will be played
the week commencing the 30th August 2010. The Football League have also confirmed the 16 clubs
from both League 1 and 2 that have been awarded bye's into the 2nd round of the competition.
After who knows how many hours in preparation, our build up to the new season closes with League 2.

Welcome to the review of this weeks League Two action. After a fantastic opening weekend
featuring 25 goals and plenty of action it was a more sombre second weekend in League Two featuring
only 15 goals. The fixtures this weekend seemed to be matching teams of very similar ambitions and
calibers and it showed, especially in the five 0-0's which will be covered in more detail
later.
One thing a couple of weeks of play gives us, is a bit of form to go on. But the fact that only
two teams have one hundred per cent records so early in the campaign suggests that the top seven
places are very much up for grabs. Only two teams are yet to get off the mark, and it is going to
be very interstign to watch this division take shape in the coming weeks.
Stevenage make a familiar trip to Aldershot this weekend as they look to get their first away
win in League 2. I've caught up with Mike from the Stray Shots website and had a chat ahead of the
game. Take a look.
You made the play-offs last season. What is Aldershot's target this time
around?
After a nightmare of a journey and nearly 3 hours on both the M25 and M3, I have to say I was
pretty relieved to get away from the Rec with a point. Although Boro took the lead through a Chris
Beardsley strike, Aldershot equalised when Damian Spencer made the most of a rare defensive
mix-up. The Shots were unlucky not to win the game late on when Marvin Morgan missed both a
penalty and then the resulting rebound to make sure the visitors made their way back to
Hertfordshire with their first point away from home this season.
Stevenage's first month in League 2 has been pretty mixed, but overall I think it's safe to say
that we are going in the right direction. The opening day draw with Macclesfield was a bit of an
anti-climax after all the hype, but Boro have responded with some good performances that see them
sitting comfortably in 10th place.
Boro have won 1, drew 3 and lost 2 of their opening 6 games in the Football League. It's not
been the flying start we were all hoping for, but there are signs that the team isn't far away from
starting to get some results on the board. Over the next week or so, I'm going to have a look into
the start we've made, starting with a look at how the new signings have started to settle in to
their new surroundings.
3pm ET. Not on live in the US. In fact, I don't know if it's on live anywhere. And if there are no
streams, there'll be no match review. Sorry. I honestly expect to have to listen to this game
through BBC Radio.

Wycombe continued their impressive form on Saturday beating Burton Albion 2-1 away
which sees them move into sixth place in League Two and also unbeaten in their last six games, with
four wins against Barnet, Stevenage

After the recent weather disruption, just one fixture has been postponed - Lincoln's
clash with Oxford - while snow is being cleared off the pitches at Bradford and
Macclesfield.
Just before the weather started to thaw a little, I had a post on the agony of late postponements
lined up. Most of us have been there and have tales of unfulfilled trips to Hereford, Hartlepool
and Hull to call upon when we get into those conversations where football nerdism is transformed
into a contest.
