Alcorcon ply their trade in the third tier of the Spanish league and when they came up against
big spending La Liga giants Real Madrid in the first leg of this Copa Del Rey (the Spanish
equivalent of the FA Cup) they were probably just dreaming of the much needed cash the tie would
generate, however the Alcorcon players had other ideas.
The day after goofing around in the snow and getting their free Audis, Real Madrid were
thoroughly thumped 4-0 in the first leg of their fourth round Copa del Rey tie with third division
side Alcorcon. The loss has been a staggering and embarrassing blow, which has not only put their
Copa campaign in serious doubt, but has manager Manuel Pellegrini on the verge of getting
sacked.
Real Madrid midfielder doesn't like being called gay Real Madrid's embarrassing 4-0 defeat to lower
league Alcorcon on Tuesday night was painful enough. But Guti had insult added to his injury. He
was hauled off by under-fire coach Manuel Pellegrini at half-time, and upon taking his place in the
dugout an Alcorcon supporter called him gay.
I think it is fairly safe to say things are not going to plan at Real Madrid's Santiago
Bernabeu. After a summer of unprecedented spending they were supposed to challenge for honours on
all fronts and regain their place at the top of La Liga from Barcelona.
In all fairness they're only a point behind Barca but the Real hieracrhcy are known for being a
bit trigger happy when it comes to managers.
Real Madrid beat Alcorcon 1-0 at the Bernabéu last night, which wasn't nearly enough to prevent
Los Galácticos losing 4-1 on aggregate and exiting the Copa del Rey. So the team that spent nearly
a quarter of a billlion euros this summer has been bounced out of the cup by a team from Segunda B,

Real Madrid are lining up Rafa Benitez as their next manager after giving Manuel

Copa Del Rey on GolTV: Real Madrid - Alcorcon at 2pm. All Times Eastern
All that talk of righting the ship turned out to be bluster as in the Copa Del Rey return leg
against Alcorcon at the Bernabeu, Real was able to muster only one goal through Rafel Van Der
Vaart. The yellow jerseys of Alcorcon were everywhere as they stifled Raul, Gago, Van Nistelrooy,
Kaka, and Lassana Diarra.
Denial
Although Real Madrid needed five goals to overturn their Round of 32 tie with Alcorcón, a
certain sense of denial was important in this particular situation so that they could believe that
their task was not impossible. Kaká stated, "For the pride and for the history of Real Madrid,
we have to win this tie.
An incredible upset in the Copa Del Rey as minnows Alcoron managed to thrash La Liga giants Real
Madrid.

Be honest, you didn't give the early Copa del Rey round a second thought. Why bother? The
juggernauts and quasi-big teams alike would dispatch of the small teams early and the likes of
'underdog' would be bestowed upon Real Betis, or some other amply funded disappointment. For god's
sake even Aletico Madrid won their [.
Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini is clinging to his job after one of the most humiliating
defeats in the club's history. Real were beaten 4-0 in the Spanish Cup by a third division
side.
Having spent more money in one pre-season than any club in history, Real were expected to hammer
minnows Alcorcon in the first leg of the fourth round of the cup.
Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini was left "very embarrassed" after seeing the most expensive
team in world football lose 4-0 to a third tier village side Alcorcon in the Spanish King's Cup.
Real fielded a strong team but were 3-0 down to the Segunda Division B club by half-time in the
round of 32 first leg.

Madrid lost 0-4 to Alcorcon in last night's Copa del Rey (King's Cup) match. It's safe to say this
club is getting by because of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo, who were both absent from yesterday's
game. Ronaldo is still nursing an ankle injury while Kaka, Casillas, and Sergio Ramos were given

Manuel Pellegrini's coaching career at Real is in danger. The shocking defeat at the hands of
lowly Alcorcon has sent shock waves through the echelons of the most decorated football club in the
world.
Jorge Valdano and Florentino Perez have given the Chilean the Getafe match this weekend and the
return match against Milan in the Champions League next week to prove himself.

The Spanish giants have won just one of their last five games and suffered the humiliation of a 4-0
defeat by third division Alcorcon in the Cup on Tuesday night.
Madrid considered sacking Pellegrini straight after the latest debacle, but will give him a chance
to turn things around against Getafe on Saturday and at AC Milan in the Champions League on
Wednesday.
After losing 4-0 to Alcorcon midweek, Wedgiellas over here wants to pull a
Saltimbanco and pretend that nothing's happening. Looks like Iker's bestie, Rafael
Nadal, forgot to collect his equipment from the Bernabeu. He arrived at training yesterday
in good spirits.
Real Madrid-Getafe
What is going on with Real Madrid? With three losses in their last five matches I guess they
really do miss this Cristiano Ronaldo guy. Real will look to bounce back from their terrible loss
earlier in the week to a squad I have never heard of, Alcorcon, but if Real Madrid continues to
play like they did against this third tier squad then it could feel a lot longer then a few weeks
without their key star player.
Real Madrid will be travelling to Milan on Tuesday without Cristiano Ronaldo. The current "World
Player of the Year" is still recovering from his ankle injury but will miss at least one more
Champions League match.
Real Madrid has to hope to turn around their recent run of poor form with a victory in Italy but
Milan is a side who are steadily improving.

neighbours.

What's a bigger embarrassment? Real Madrid labouring to a 1-0 home win over Alcorcon with their big
guns out on show, or Alcorcón demolishing Real Madrid 4-0 at their 3,000-capacity Santo Domingo
stadium with half of the mini-Galacticos day-dreaming out on the pitch?
The answer? Both are equally disgraceful.
Although they lost the away leg of their Copa del Rey fixture against Real Madrid 1-0, third
division Alcorcon still completed their shock 4-1 aggregate upset over Spain's most expensive team
and advanced to the fifth round (of eight) in the tournament.
For Alcorcon, this was their championship, though, and without a doubt the club's defining
moment (it was only founded in 1971).
The city of Alcorcón celebrated their shock victory over Real Madrid in style
yesterday, as thousands lined the road to catch a glimpse of their heroes. Fans crowded around the
team bus to welcome back their boys and we have to admit, it's certainly a beautiful image!
It's always sad when a death occurs in the football family.
As he pauses a moment in the contemplation of why most of his goals are scored two at a time, Bojan
wants everyone to excuse our lack of updates lately, and hopes that we can get things back on track
during this international break! We'll have to do without the match report for Barca's 5-0 trumping
of Cultural Leonesa, but here is the match-related aftermath.
Marcelo, Drenthe nor Arbeloa satisfy & guarantee the left back positionwhich has been the place

You would think that after beating Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey and having a open-top bus
parade already this season, the rest would be gravy for Alcorcon manager Juan Antonio Albacete
Anquela. Well, apparently not because he had himself a bit of a freak out at the end of his side's
third division match against Puertollano.

In a Copa Del Rey match, Jerzy Dudek was the goalie under siege as Francisco Borja scored the
first goal, a under pressure Alvaro Arbeloa scored an own goal, Ernesto Gomez tapped in a third,
and Borja completed Madrid's woebegone display with his second goal and Alcorcon's fourth.
Pellegrini rested Kaka and his place was taken by Guti.
Last night Spanish giants Real Madrid suffered a 4-0 defeat to third tier team Alcorcon in the
Spanish King's Cup, making it their third defeat in five games. Real have not won the cup in 16
years, and this is more than slightly reminiscent of the result that began their slide in the first
half of last season, when they were knocked out by another third-tier side Real Union in the fourth
round.
Spanish third-division side A.D. Alcorcon humbled a strong Real Madrid side 4 -0 in a Copa del Rey
round of 32 match last night. The result of the game reflected the run of play as the minnows from
the Madrid suburbs outplayed the European giant in front of 3,000 or so noisy fans. Karim Benzema,

Google the word "AD Alcorcon". Chances are the first thing you will notice is the glaring typo made
by every football website across the globe. But there's no typo. Alcorcon did beat Real Madrid 4-0
on Tuesday night.

There were three somewhat major cup exits yesterday. Three second division or lower sides which
took their Cinderella moment and cashed it in: the much discussed Alcorcon thrashing of grand Real
Madrid; Furth downing the apparently unfireable Markus Babbel and epic disappointers Stuttgart; and
Borussia Dortmund gifting three goals and a win to Osnabruck, who [.
