Kevin Day.
Regular readers will know our Great Teams series, which recently clocked up a quarter-century of
posts with this piece on Swansea's 1978-79 vintage. Here, our Baggies correspondent Frank Heaven
takes a slightly different tack, picking at an old wound in the shape of Albion's Division Three
bound plonk from 1990-91.
The unmistakeably musty scent of stagnation has been in the air at Coventry City of late. As
memories of the club as mainstays of the top division of English football fade to become little
more than a memory, this is a club that feels shiftless, as if it hasn't successfully asserted a
new identity since leaving Highfield Road for The Ricoh Stadium in 2005.

Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carling Cup next Wednesday. The Reds Skipper has been out for

given him the green light to return to full training.

True enough, it's only the Third Round of the League Cup and both of the teams playing this
evening, whether rightly or wrongly, may well feel that they have bigger fish to fry than this
competition this season. There is, however, something in the sea air in Brighton this evening. The
trains into the railway station are jammed solid and the queue for the trains out to The American
Express Community Stadium snakes out of the station and around the concourse outside.

Arsenal were chasing central defenders over the summer, and still are, as they look to improve on
their poor defensive record. Their latest target is believed to be Lewis Dunk of Brighton & Hove
Albion. Dunk has been in impressive form this season and has been an ever present in the league for
Brighton.

Another scintillating performance from Luis Suarez inspired Liverpool to a 2-1 win over
