Ireland u16 international Bradley Garmston certainly has the pedigree to be lightening fast
on the left wing for Ireland and West Brom in the future. The Chorley born teenager has been rated
as the second fastest 100 & 200m runner in the UK for his age and despite a promising sprinting
career has decided to stick with football.

An FC United fan lets off a flare at Gigg Lane
Gus Poyet's Albion sauntered to an easy win against FC United at Gigg Lane last night. So FC
United vs Man Utd is off the menu, and I'm delighted, as the media shitstorm – the unalloyed
romance of the FA Cup, glorious giant-killers, screw the Glazers, real fans etc.
You've see the film The Damned United, or read the book by David Peace that inspired it. The
question that remains is, to what extent has the outspoken, charismatic and often times hilarious
manager left a lasting impression on you?
For me, Clough embodies what I think of when I imagine English football in the 60's and 70's and
he remains a true legend in the game.
Wolves tonight denied signing Said Berahino and explains: "Wolves HAVEN'T signed Albion youngster
Saido Berahino. Rogue error on website by company who put it together and nothing to do with
us!!!!" I'm really sorry if I have mislead you when I published the article about the young WBA
striker signing for Wolves, but I did [.
The thing that's the hardest for me to wrap my mind around when watching Roy Hodgson's team
compared to the side we saw for the last six seasons is how much less possession Liverpool's had so
far. Watching a promoted West Brom dictate the play for long stretches at Anfield, with Liverpool
only winning the possession battle 51-49% thanks to an improved second half (having less of the
ball than Albion in the first), hammered the point home.
Liam Bridcutt was released by Chelsea on June 7. No surprise. Bridcutt, 21, is just one of many
youth products who have failed to establish themselves at the London club.
Bridcutt joined Chelsea in 2004. His senior career at the club began three years later. The
midfielder never made a first team appearance for Chelsea, but enjoyed loans spells at Yeovil,
Watford and Stockport.
Football games on consoles. FIFA vs Pro Evolution Soccer. There was a time when it was all so
much easier than it is now. EA Sports had spent all of the money for FIFA on the licences and
seemed to have very little left over for the game itself. Konami, on the other hand, knew that with
Pro Evolution Soccer, if you wanted something that felt like the real thing, you would put up with
Merseyside Blue playing against Connaught.
Westbromich Albion: Roberto Di Matteo has my pick for Manager of the Year
following 9 matches this season. The new boys manager has his side believing in a shot at the top
half of the league table and the runners-up of the Coca-Cola Championship are currently in 6th
place. Westbrom has been relegated 3 out of their last 4 experiences on the top tier, so this has
been an unbelievable start.
Somen Tchoyi surprise for the derby « Express & Star Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo could spring a
major Black Country derby surprise by fielding Somen Tchoyi as a stand-in striker. The head coach
is considering moving the Cameroon international up front, who today gave a vote of confidence to
under-fire forward Marc-Antoine Fortune.
Somewhat against expectations, this evenings Scottish Cup Fourth Round fixtures pass the various
pitch inspections, meaning that all planned fixtures are set to go ahead this week. Inside Left
brings you a wee preview.. Albion v Stirling High-flying Stirling drop a division to travel south
to Coatbridge to take on Albion Rovers.
Wolves Women will play Sporting Club Albion in the Birmingham County Cup quarter finals. After
winning against Birmingham Athletics with an impressive 5-0 (report HERE) Wolves earned the quarter
final which will be played on Sunday February 7. Sporting Club Albion is WBA with a fancier name.
Before that they will play top-of-the-table team [.
Gary O'Reilly is a former defender for Spur, Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion who now
works as a commentator with TWI. He joined Kartik Krishnaiyer earlier this week, when he was
interviewed for this edition of the EPL Talk Podcast.
Don't forget that the EPL Talk Podcast is the only Premier League interview and analysis podcast
available for free.
Ah, the romance of the FA Vase. It's the last sixteen of the competition and somewhere along the
line Wembley fever has gripped a small corner of Brighton and a small corner of Cleveland. When we
get to East Brighton Park, which sits unsurprisingly, on the easternmost perimeter of Brighton,
overlooked by the South Downs, there are two coaches parked outside the ground, one of which is a
double-decker.

There is something strangely appealing about a really bad pitch. In an age in which so many
aspects of football seem to be so sanitised, there is something quite comforting a pitch with
puddles on it or one that is completely and utterly devoid of grass. Colchester United have only
been at The Community Stadium for a couple of years, but the pitch there is in a ruinous condition
already.

Without wishing to put a hex on tonight's result, it looks like it's when rather than if for
Newcastle and West Brom at the top of the table. With nine points and a commodious goal difference
separating the Albion and Forest, it seems that it'll be as you are for the rest of the season
unless the Reds can recapture the form that briefly made it a three horse race.
Let's be 'avin you
This weekend EFW will mostly be watching Brighton & Hove Albion v Norwich City in League One. I
have very fond memories of watching the Albion beat the Canaries 1-0 in the FA Cup 6th Round in
1983 but become slightly less misty eyed when recalling my only visit to Carrow Road - a 5-0
thumping in the Full Members Cup, Second Round (South), on a Wednesday night, back in the 1989/90
season.
Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, commonly referred to as Brighton, are an English professional
association football club based in the coastal city of Brighton & Hove, East Sussex. They have
played in the Football League One, the third tier of the English football league system, since
their relegation from the Championship in 2006.
Though the season is over for the men of Wolves, Wolves Women are still fighting in their league.
Sunday they played Sporting Club Albion in their last away game for the season. It was a rather
scrappy first half where the teams cancelled each other out, and there were only a few chances.
Dani Selmes [.
Steven Reid set to finish with Albion Might be worth a punt if he's listed as a defender next
season, but it's more likely he'll be listed as a midfielder despite playing right back.
The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the

As the rest of the world is learning, US audiences do love football, er, soccer. In Houston,
Texas, I grew up playing soccer in the heat and humidity on various teams of different stripes.
We watched our soccer coverage on Univision and Telemundo, with
an occasional game on cable or PBS.

The Friendly FiresBrighton 1-0 Aberdeen (31:07:10)Almost a year ago to this day, EFW - which is based in Brighton, well Hove actually - packed its
drinking boots and headed to Aberdeen. After reading, and eventually writing about their 'Red
Ultras' we were hooked.
It's time to consider the prospects for Wigan Athletic this season as we continue to work our
way up the table. The season marks Roberto Martinez's second full season (well at least he hopes it
will be) at the helm.
The most notable foray in to the transfer market by the Spaniard this Summer was the capture of
Mauro Boselli from Estudiantes.
There will probably bee some 'extra spice' to the match tonight against Notts County, as striker
Lee Hughes will play upfront in the team. For those of you who might not know Lee Hughes is an
Albion fan and a former player in the yoyo- team down the road from Wolverhampton. He has
admittedly [...]
In recent years West Brom have picked up the tag as the ultimate yo-yo team, proving too good
for the Championship and not quite strong enough for the Premier League. This season under the
guidance of Roberto Di Matteo the Baggies are looking to put that name to bed and they have made
the perfect start.
Five games in to the Premier League season what have we learned? Chelsea are a class act, Man
Utd are inconsistent, Liverpool are out of the race, and David Moyes' Everton are missing a crucial
ingredient that they had last term. heading in to the weekend's matchups though, we can be sure
that many of them will not go to early season form.
Had most people in Britain cupped their ears in a southwardly direction at just before five
o'clock on Saturday afternoon, they would have heard the faint sound of cheering coming from the
Withdean stadium in Brighton. In the midst of a desperate, crazy goalmouth scramble, six minutes
into injury time at the end of a match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Oldham Athletic which was
deadlocked at 1-1, Francisco Sandaza, whose previous career exploits had seen him play for
Valencia's 'B' team and Dundee United, bundled the ball over the line to win the match for Brighton
and send the Seagulls to the top of the League One table.
Universally challenged !

Starter for ten (or should that be thirty considering it's three questions): What can go up a
chimney down but not down a chimney up? What always ends everything? How do you score a goal and
draw a football match without ever having a shot on target?
We've got something a little different for you tonight, with the launch of our very own

which is the third in the BBC's "Match Of The Eighties" series.

With the Wayne Rooney shitstorm battering us all into submission, how about we retreat to League
One to enjoy the relative calm of some honest football, in the form of pics of Brighton's big win
at The Valley. We'll be safe there.
Gus Poyet is doing a brilliant job at Brighton: to thrash a Charlton side that previously was
undefeated at home this season is a brilliant result and one that keeps the Albion firmly on top of
the table.
Manchester City-Arsenal
The Blues are proving that spending loads of money eventually works and the team is currently
the lone club with 17 points earned and sit in second place behind Chelsea. With another crucial
home victory this week the club can continue to separate themselves from the pack and claim their
top four territory for the season.
This weekend sees us reach the First Round Proper stage of the FA Cup. Over 40,000 people turned
out to watch the Fourth Qualifying Round matches, and there will be plenty of stories waiting to be
written over the next few days. For our part, we'll be reporting on the matches between Rochdale
and FC United of Manchester, Brighton & Hove Albion and Woking, and Southport and Sheffield
Wednesday.
The dark clouds on the horizon look threatening and not just in the sense that, in the uncovered
South Stand at the Withdean Stadium, we're going the get soaked to the skin at some point this
afternoon. Ticket prices have been cut to just ten pounds and this has pushed the crowd for this
match up to almost 6,000, but the nagging suspicion is that only the 900 or so Woking supporters
away to our right are the only ones that really want to be here this afternoon.
OUR VISITORS IN THE FA VASE ON SATURDAY, 'ARMTHORPE WELFARE' COMPLETE WITH JAMIE GREEN BETWEEN THE
POSTS HAVE NOT HAD A VICTORY UNDER THEIR BELTS SINCE THEY SCRAPED TO A 3-2 VICTORY OVER DINNINGTON
TOWN WAY BACK ON THE 2nd OCTOBER.
SINCE THEN WELFARE HAVE BEEN BEATEN 4-1 AT FARSLEY, 1-0 AT WINTERTON RANGERS, 4-2 AT DINNINGTON,
3-1 AT PARKGATE AND FINALLY IN THE LEAGUE THEY WERE BEATEN 3-0 BY SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC.
We're returning this week to a theme that we touched on a couple of weeks ago, with highlights
from some of the matches played in the non-league game over the last few days. We kick off with a
top of the table local derby from the Ryman League Premier Division that was played last Tuesday
night between Sutton United and Kingstonian.

Brighton & Hove Albion players during a stoppage in play in their FA Cup first-round replay at
Woking. The match ended 2-2 after extra time, then in-form Brighton dominated the penalty shootout
(Woking missed all three of their pens doh).
Gus Poyet's team will play FC United of Manchester in the next round.
