Argentina is in group B where I have already covered Nigeria, Greece and South Korea. Twice
World Champions in 1978 and 1986 and 2 time finalist in 1930 and 1990, Argentina is almost always
amongst the top contenders to win any World Cup.
The albicelestes have a unique style amongst South American teams known as toque.

I was sitting at home with a toothache resulting from a root canal procedure. And yes, it pains
so much that I can't even sleep. So thought of making bold predictions for the FIFA World Cup 2010.
Well, usually my brain says something, and my heart says something else (Though I have been accused
at various points in my life of not having either a brain or a heart).
Argentina forward Carlos Tevez has admitted he is amazed by the talents of Lionel Messi as the
Albicelestes continue their preparation for the World Cup finals.
Argentina
Nickname: The Albicelestes, after their white and sky-blue shirts
FIFA ranking: 7
How they got here: Made hard work of things, including a humiliating 6-1 loss to Bolivia,
but eventually qualified thanks to narrow wins in their last two games.
Record in previous tournaments: Have won twice before, in 1978 and 1986.
Group B
Full to the gills with striking talent, Argentina appears the clear favorite to advance out of
Group B. The second spot is up for much debate. Greek will park the bus and try to stalemate
opponents into submission but Nigeria boasts both speed and size to trouble the Greek defenses.

Sergio Batista has apparently proven his worth.
Named the interim coach after Diego Maradona's firing in the aftermath of the World Cup, Batista
is set to shed that interim label and become the permanent coach for the Argentina national
team.
Argentina 1-0 Brazil ( Lionel Messi) Lionel Messi's late goal, his first ever for Argentina against
Brazil, gave Sergio Batista's side a win over their bitter local rivals in an international
friendly in Doha, Qatar on November 17, 2010. It was an excellent individual strike from the little
Argentine, who scored in second half stoppage time.
partido 10 puntos.
