Giuseppi Rossi's injury is worse than originally feared.
After being projected to miss another six months with the torn ACL he suffered earlier this
month, Rossi is now being ruled out for 10 months. The Italian international needs two surgeries to
repair the damaged ligament in his right knee, but the latest timetable for recovery means Rossi
will miss most of next season.
Dearly beloved, today we are gathered here to say goodbye to another blogger. But not just any
blogger, the one and only Dictator of the Italy World Cup Blog, Gadsby. He was loved and hated, but
rarely anything in between, similar to the great Alberto Malesani. Che cazzo. [read more]
Season Preview: Genoa Opening/Recap Genoa's tenth place finish last season could be viewed as a
disappointment from a number of angles. Most strikingly, the side had finished a place higher the
season prior and could have hoped to fight for a European spot last campaign. Out went Marco
Amelia and in came Eduardo to fill in between the sticks a move that should have turned out to be
much.
Despite finishing tenth last season there seems to be a constant state of upheaval at Genoa. A new
coach has been installed and a highly rated youngster has already gone to champions Milan, with
more on their way both in and out. On Monday last week Genoa appointed former Bologna manager
Alberto Malesani after the club decided not to renew the contract of Bruce Willis look-a-like
Davide.
Ex-Bologna FC boss Alberto Malesani has been appointed as coach of Genoa CFC after the club decided
not to renew terms with Davide Ballardini at the end of the last campaign.
Bologna riesci a salvarti?
The relegation battle in Serie A who's going down then? is a post from: Just Football
Bari's 1-0 home defeat to Sampdoria on Saturday afternoon confirmed the club's relegation to
Serie B, something which was inevitable months ago but is now mathematically certain. It Brescia's
defeat to Milan by the same scoreline, although not sealing their fate, leaves them five points
adrift with only 12 left to play for, meaning it is looking increasingly like five, six or even
seven clubs trying to avoid what appears to be one remaining spot in the bottom three.
Well, I don't even know where to start really. Almost three years ago, I was handed the reigns
of the Italy Offside and I was so excited to cover my religion (calcio) week-in, week-out. I had a
blast writing about the calcio world we all love in these past three years, as well as interacting
with you the readers, who made this blog so successful.
