Two successive defeats to bottom clubs QPR and Wigan leaves Liverpool 7th on the EPL standings
on 42 points with 8 games left in the season. This is definitely not a good result for the Reds who
will now have to contend with playing in the Europa League for the third successive season.
Speaking after the match, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish blamed fatigue for his sides poor
performances.
Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani could still leave Anfield for AC Milan this summer, according
to talkSPORT.
The Italy international has been on a season-long loan to the Serie A giants, but failed to reach
the required number of appearances to trigger the £6m buyout clause. As part of the loan
agreement, had Aquilani reached 25 games AC Milan would have had the automatic option to sign the
27-year-old.
Brendan Rodgers has indicated he will speak to Liverpool's forgotten stars Joe Cole and Alberto
Aquilani before deciding on their future.
Rodgers was appointed as the Reds' new manager on Friday and is already running the rule over the
talent at his disposal at Anfield.
Cole spent the season on loan at French club Lille, while Aquilani returned to his native Italy
with AC Milan.

Two of Italy's top WAGs donned two drastically different looks at Milan Fashion Week shows over
the weekend, and today's fashion off has taken us back to the wholeheartedly good vs exceptionally
evil F5 contest between Xabi Alonso and Marco Borriello from light years ago (Alonso's ginger halo
won out).
Liverpool have drawn up their blueprint for the summer transfer market and it does not include
significant outgoings from their squad.
Manager Kenny Dalglish spent more than £80million in the last close-season on the likes of Stewart
Downing, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam, but a disappointing Premier League campaign has
included just six home wins.
The Italian spent the whole 2011-12 campaign on loan at Milan, but did not play enough games for
the Serie A side to trigger a clause in his contract that would have seen him join AC Milan
permanently.
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani revealed that the club will not be taking up the option
to sign Alberto Aquilani but could do so at a later date.
AC Milan midfielder Alberto Aquilani has insisted that he holds no ill feeling towards Juventus
despite not being offered a permanent deal at the Turin club after a season-long spell with the
side last season.
The Italy international could have joined Antonio Conte's side at the end of his temporary stay,
yet the club did not take up the option to sign him on a permanent deal, resulting in the former
Roma man signing for Massimiliano Allegri's men for the 2011-12 campaign.

The agent of Real Madrid's out of favour midfielder Esteban Granero has admitted that he would
relish a transfer to Liverpool.
Teofilo Lazaro has spoken out about the future of 24-year-old Granero, who has slipped down Real
boss Jose Mourinho's pecking order at the Bernabeu this season.
And, he revealed that the £8million-rated midfield man would be happy for a move away to secure
regular first-team action elsewhere, namng the Reds as a possible destination.
Obviously, the atmosphere at a derby held in such high esteem such as that of 'Derby
della Madonnina' is meant to blow you off your feet. Unfortunately, besides
Diego Milito's wonder strike for Inter in the 54th minute (there's no denying him,
really) the game last night was .

There's a rumour going around that Pepe (of all people) just came out of the closet on a French
radio show. Sounds like complete BS to us because A) why French radio?
Inter continued its strong run of form with a sixth consecutive win on the weekend. Only this time,
the victory was not against the likes of Parma or Lecce. The Nerazzurri signaled its return to the
upper echelon of Serie A with a 1-0 win over bitter rivals AC Milan, in the latest installment of
the Derby della Madonnina.
I had the same feeling as those thousands of Milan fans at the San Siro on Sunday night who left
their seats early. A feeling of resignation, hopelessness and defeat even before the final whistle
was sounded. It was by no means the worst Milan performance ever, but, it was far from the best. We

It has been an odd week for Milan. From the low that last Sunday's derby loss sank us to, the
club's fortunes rose steadily from one day to the next ending in triumphant fashion with a
convincing 3-0 win over Novara. The loss to the ‘Tinkerman's' Nerazzurri posed serious questions
over Max Allegri's men, from [.
Liverpool is reportedly in talks with Real Madrid ahead of a bid to sign midfielder Esteban
Granero. The Anfield side is keen to beef up their central midfield options and have earmarked a
move for the adaptable 24 year old this month. The Merseyside club is lining up a bid in the region
of £8m for the former Spanish Under-21 international.
AC Milan continued where they left off last Wednesday by beating Cagliari 3-0 at the San Siro
yesterday to take them to within a point of leaders Juventus. Juve on the other hand were 2-1
winners over Udinese on Saturday.
Both wins see them pull clear of there nearest challengers Udinese and Lazio to set up a rather
interesting conclusion to the league this season.
The rumour mill may continue incessantly as it always does, but, for the time being no players will
be swapping kits. Instead, now is the time for coaches to start preparing their troops, both new
and old, for the business part of the season. It is already February and that mad month of May is

AC Milan will be looking to put behind them their disastrous weekend outing when they host
Juventus at the San Siro tonight in the Coppa Italia first leg semi-final. With Juventus also
having settled for a similar barren draw with Siena in the weekend, the match will definitely be an
explosive one.

Grantland. The Classical. The FCF. Plenty of wonderful new sites have popped up in the last few
years. However, none can match the uncanny and perceptive gaze of former Liverpool coach Rafa
Benitez's own blog.
Alberto Aquilani is a couple of weeks away from regaining full fitness and once he's back and
played five more games then he will automatically complete a move to AC Milan for a transfer fee of
six million Euros, with the deal to be made official in the summer.
The Italian midfielder in August returned to his homeland from Liverpool on a season-long loan,
but he is currently recovering from a muscle problem.
There's something about Ibrahimovic and Robinho
high-fiving one another that speedily conjures up the Batman and Robin
theme song. Sure, you're now desperately trying to force images of Ibrahimovic in
spandex and a cape out of your minds (your welcome) but despite all his individualistic
glory, Ibra has thankfully, remembered that his superb goal in the 65th minute was
only possible through his teammates, Robinho and Urby.

Once touted as the man to bring an added creative spark to the Reds' midfield, Alberto Aquilani
looks set to finally break all connections with the Anfield club and make his move to Milan a
permanent one.
The £17million signing of the glamorous Roma playmaker in 2009 by Rafa Benitez was expected to
infuse the Red's midfield with a classy and creative spark.
About the only consistent thing about Liverpool in the 2011-12 season has been whiplash-inducing
inconsistency, and so after a pair of encouraging victories over Everton in the derby and Stoke in
the FA Cup, the smart money probably wasn't on the club winning their third in a row. It might not
offer much hope for progress, but it's hard to look back at the end result without thinking that on
some level it was what everybody should have expected from this Liverpool side.
Alberto Aquilani made his 25th appearance of the season for AC Milan on the weekend, coming on
as an 85th minute substitute against Roma. Based on statements from the player's agent, this means
that the automatic transfer clause in his loan deal has now been triggered—Milan get the
midfielder, and Liverpool get around £5M spread over three annual instalments beginning this
summer.

A young star who had the world at his feet; Alberto Aquilani was viewed as one of the best players

curtailed his involvement. English side, Liverpool FC, gambled upon Aquilani's fitness when they

Liverpool are reportedly consider moves for Man City duo Adam Johnson and Emmanuel Adebayor as
Kenny Dalglish looks to improve his attacking options after seeing his Anfield side consistently
struggle for goals this term. Having spent over £110m on new signings in the past 15 months the
Scot will hope the club's American owners will be willing to dig deep into their pockets to finance
moves for the Etihad Stadium pair but will also look to sell under-performing players to help fund
any summer deals.
There's less than a month to go in the season, and already a few supposed primary targets for
Liverpool Football Club have begun to take shape. Plus there's some potential good news for anybody
hoping the club might change their stance on the usefulness of players like Dirk Kuyt and Maxi
Rodriguez.
After last weekend's capitulation to Newcastle on the heels of a frustrating series of results
against clubs lurking in the relegation zone, you probably wouldn't expect days filled with
positive news items. And you'd be right. Welcome to the suck...
* Ever since Jordan Hendrson arrived at the club and walked straight into the starting
eleven on the right, slotting in ahead of the previous season's scoring leader without having to
earn the role despite it being his less favoured position and that the man he was replacing remains
a regular for the Dutch national team, there has been a widespread belief that Dirk Kuyt's time at
the club has all but reached its end.

AC Milan are set to send the midfielder back to England this summer after declining to make the
move permanent, forcing Dalglish's side to find him a new club.
Aquilani is on loan at San Siro from Liverpool and once he completes 25
League games this season, AC Milan will be forced to sign him outright for €6m.
It had been assumed that Liverpool would sell both Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani at the end of the
season but it now seems as though the midfield duo could yet play for Liverpool again.
The decision was made by Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish to loan both players out after he signed
Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing and Charlie Adam, but all three have failed to live up to
expectation.
A twist of fortune which currently happened with Alberto Aquilani at Ac Milan reportedly could
make him return to Anfield next season, as the Rossoneri are not willing to meet the clause both
teams set last summer.
Acknowledging this situation, the Reds' manager, Kenny Dalglish, said that he would welcome
Aquilani back with open hands although the tactician believed that leaving Milan would make the
player truly disappointed.

Adriano Galliani today 24 hours after Milan's four-goal rout of Siena. While it is not so easy to

Alberto Aquilani should know by the end of the month whether he has a future at Liverpool or
whether he is free to move on.
The Italy international had hoped that a season-long loan spell at AC Milan would lead to a
permanent deal this summer.
He has, however, failed to make enough appearances to trigger a £5million buyout clause.
