Liverpool misfit Alberto Aquilani has quickly settled into life at AC Milan and scored his first
goal for the club in the 3-1 loss to Napoli at the weekend.
The midfielder has once again been sent out on loan by Liverpool and is hopeful that come the end
of the season he will be able to make his move permanent.
The Time Is Napoli! Italy's two premier sides went head to head in the peninsula's showcase match
of Week 2. Both the Partenepoi and Rossoneri earned respectable draws against hotly fancied
opposition in Manchester City and Barcelona respectively midweek, were coming into the Sao Paolo
clash with injury concerns.
After last Wednesday came to an end and no big signing was announced, I must admit I was
disappointed. Like last year when the club landed two great players late in the transfer window I
was hopeful the club would do so again. Far from arbitrary, the promises of the fabled Mr. X gave
my [...]
Earlier this summer Milan admitted that they had spotted their Mr. X, he was a "1.83m tall, blue
and has thick haired midfielder". This vague description sparked many rumours of players that would
fit this profile, from Kaka to Alex Witsel. In the end, however, the tale of the mysterious Mr. X
proved a great [.

Liverpool loanee Alberto Aquilani made an immediate impact in Serie A on Frday, creating two goals
for AC Milan as the team clawed back a two-goal deficit against Lazio. It could've easily have been
Liverpool rather than Milan benefiting from Aquilani's creativity and delivery this weekend, but
Kenny Dalglish decided to let him go this season.
Frustrated Forlan alongside triumphant Miccoli
The Serie A has been dominated by the two main Milanese clubs for a bit more than half a decade.
While they have had some testing competition by the likes of Roma and Juventus, the past ten years
have seen AC Milan or Inter Milan win the scudetto seven times.
Former Liverpool skipper Phil Thompson believes that the sale of Raul Meireles, who was bought for
£11 million, to Chelsea for a fee of around £12m was a "fantastic deal" for all the parties
involved.
Meireles, who impressed and became a fan favourite in his one and only season on Merseyside, was
sold at the eleventh hour on the final day of the transfer window.
Lack of European football shows how far Liverpool had fell before Dalglish
arrival
Liverpool's absence in this weeks European ties shows how much damage was done under Hicks,
Gillett and Hodgson. But under King Kenny Liverpool are fighting to be back in Europe's top
competition.

Alberto Aquilani's impressive form for AC Milan continued last night with an excellent goal against
Napoli. Would Aquilani have made a difference against Spurs today?Who knows, but he's already got
two assists and a goal in two games for Milan, which is pretty good going. Not that I'm saying
Liverpool should've kept Aquilani, but would he have been any worse than Jordan Henderson today?
After their impressive 2-2 midweek show against Barcelona, Milan fell to a 3-1
defeat in the hands of Napoli last night. And the man of the moment? Hat-trick hero Edison
Cavani, of course! Move aside Suarez, there's a new
Uruguayan star in town!
I would like to personally apologize to Sofia Vergara for not getting the Emmy. What
garbage...Let's start with AC Milan's Alberto Aquilani because this week he gives us the rare
header worth fawning over.Nap 0-1 Mil door goalsarena2011Ya know what else we haven't had enough of
around here lately? Sweet chips.
It has to be fair game to wonder what happened to the faith Kenny Dalglish showed John Flanagan
towards the end of last season; to wonder where it went on the back of a poor performance that owed
a great deal to the young fullback being left exposed by the man playing in front of him.
It has to be fair game to wonder about the insistence on playing that man, Jordan Henderson,
ahead of the more experienced Dirk Kuyt no matter the circumstances—even when coming up against
one of the league's top six club's on the road.

Milan entered this new season as clear favourites to retain the Scudetto they won back in May. Yet,
after three matches played in total, two in the Serie A and one in the Champions League, things
have not gone quite to plan. The Italian champions are still without a win in the new campaign
after [...

Serie A Weekly welcomes back writer Andrew Murray who will be covering Team of the Week and as well
as other topics... Napoli shot to the top of Serie A on Sunday night as a classic counter-attacking
performance and an Edinson Cavani secured a 3-1 victory over champions AC Milan. The Partenopei
showed few signs of a European hangover after Wednesday's Champions League tie, and it was.

Talk of crisis has avoided Milan despite the club sitting in a lowly 16th position. This is because
rather than fingers being pointed at the players or coach Max Allegri for the Champions' poor start
to the campaign, the significant injury crisis has been viewed as the main reason why Milan have so
far failed [.
