Believe or not, every so often, footballers get randy. Shocking, but true.
When a professional footballer makes a choice/is given an ultimatum/is too intoxicated to fix
himself a prophylactic, he and his mate engage in adult, under-the-covers action and make a
baby.
"Oh for fuck's sake!" or words to that effect, were exclaimed by Joe Cole as he was subbed off
for David N'Gog towards the end of yesterday's Europa League match against Steaua Bucureşti. I
rather suspect more than a few watching the match muttered much the same thing for every minute
after the sixtieth he remained on the pitch, it having become painfully clear he wasn't going to
find his form immediately on return from injury and that it might be better to have him make way
for a player who could conceivably effect the outcome.
Juventus have announced their penchant for Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson directly to Liverpool in a
meeting between Giuseppe Marotta and Damien Comolli.
Part of those talks centred around Alberto Aquilani as Juventus want to keep him permanently, but
the majority of attention focused on the two defenders.
Juventus suffered last season following one of the worst campaigns in their glorious history.
There were multiple reasons behind their collapse such as instability due to coaching changes, a
number of injuries to key players, the management's bad decisions in the transfer market and the
age factor catching up with star players among other factors.

Alberto Aquilani says that he is keen to stay at Juventus rather than return to Liverpool at the
end of the season.
The Italian is on a season-long loan at the Serie A club, who do have an option to sign him on a
permanent basis come the end of the current campaign.
And the former Roma midfielder, who has impressed this season after recovering from various
injuries during his time at Liverpool, is keen to stay in Italy and says that he is rediscovering
his best form under Juventus coach Luigi Delneri.
Earlier today, Italian football giant Inter Milan and Spanish coach Rafa Benitez "mutually
agreed to part company immediately", or words to that effect. Basically, it amounts to the fact
that Inter President Massimo Moratti had had enough of Benitez's egotistical antics and said
"Ciao".
Going back to the end of last season and launching into the summer.
January February March April
Not with a bang but a whimper the last month of a dismal season ended with a 2-0 loss to Chelsea
and a dire 0-0 draw away to the already relegated Hull City. There was little to be positive about
other than the fact that the season was over and the World Cup was fast approaching, but the
Liverpool Offside still managed a decent month and hit the illustrious landmark of 1,000 posts.
So, they woke up and got rid of Rafa Benitez, they rode the storm and came through the worst of it,
and are now hopeful of making their way back up the league table to their rightful place among the
big boys; and they're going to make sure of that by making wholesale changes to a largely inherited
squad come January.
