The Rojiblancos have been struggling mightily and will look to break a recent two game losing streak that has seen them get shut out in their last two matches.

CARSON, Calif. The New England Revolution's waning playoff hopes were dealt a severe if not fatal blow Friday night, as Chivas USA captured a comprehensive 2-0 victory at the Home Depot Center.

Justin Braun scored in the 6th minute and Paulo Nagamura fired another through in the 36th minute to give the Goats a lead that could have been doubled had it not been for the acrobatic saves of Revolution keeper Matt Reis.

CARSON, CALIF - Desperate to keep their slim playoff dreams alive, Chivas USA defeated the New England Revolution 2-0 on Friday night with goals by Justin Braun and Paulo Nagamura.

Chivas USA (7-12-4) had the Revs pinned down in their own half for the vast majority of the first 45 minutes. They scored two goals.

Chivas USA forward Alan Gordon won Player of the Week honors for Week 24. Chivas USA forward Alan Gordon earned MLS Player of the Week honors on Monday after a two-assist performance in the Rojiblancos 2-0 victory over the New England Revolution.

Gordon defeated a strong field of candidates for the award including the Los Angeles Galaxy's Landon Donovan, New York Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry, Chivas teammate Justin Braun and Philadelphia Union forward Sebastien Le Toux.

The biggest news of the week is that there is no news for this week. With the roster freeze coming at 2 PM PDT on Wednesday, the LA Galaxy announced only one change. That was bringing Yohance Marshall back from loan to the USSF D-2 Austin Aztecs, a team that enjoyed several weeks at the top of the second division of North American futbol this season.

After having last weekend off due to the schedule change, the Wizards return to MLS play tomorrow out in LA against Chivas USA. With the way that MLS results have gone since the Wizards last played the Wizards still have a chance to get their way into the playoffs. But to do that, they need to take points from the games they have in hand on other teams around them.

Chivas USA (7-12-4) hosts Lawndale's Kei Kamara and the Kansas City Wizards (7-9-6) at 5 p.m. today (live on FSN) at Home Depot Center with the Goats, losers of only one game in their last eight, still holding onto slim playoff hopes.

Chivas USA's problem is that they face a rested, similarly resurgent foe, who have played some of their best soccer in the last couple of months and have seen the results go their way to match it.

At least Chivas USA and Galaxy fans have one thing in common heading into next Sunday's SuperClasico: they both support teams who appear to be deteriorating rather than improving as the season wears on.
