The winter transfer window across Europe closed on Tuesday, and a number of teams -- not the usual big-spenders -- that were scrambling to fill vacancies and address needs for the second half of their respective seasons were able to add some valuable pieces to the puzzle.

Queens Park Rangers fall into that category, adding firepower in the form of former Lazio striker Djibril Cisse and Fulham forward Bobby Zamora.

The winter transfer window in Europe is set to close today, and teams are still scrambling to fill vacancies and address needs for the second half of their respective seasons.

While we don't seem likely to have any megastars making winter transfer moves, despite resurgent rumors of Carlos Tevez to AC Milan, there is still some serious talent changing addresses.

I stumbled across this story when catching up on all the latest football news and thought i would highlight here not because it is one of the biggest transfer stories on this last day of the transfer window, but rather because of its almost near obscurity.

Frankly, speaking , i thought Toni had retired from the game so imagine my shock when i read that he had actually been with Juventus all this time.

Sebastien Le Toux tweeted this morning, "I spent a great week at BWFC. Great club with great people. Now back in Philly." We are waiting for confirmation on this from the Union on this and if this means there will be no transfer to Bolton.

Following the successful appeal to secure Tim Ream the UK work permit necessary to complete the defender's move to the Wanderers, Owen Coyle tells The Bolton News that he plans to "add one or two more to take us on to the second half of the season" before the close of the transfer window on January 31.

Juan hell of a tattoo Now normally I would have no problem with the police arresting our footballers because of their awful tattoos. Stephen Ireland – two years in the nick, Raul Meireles – never see the light of day again, that sort of thing. But I see that more of a job for the [...]

One thing I always like about the Mexican football, that they always manage to surprise you in front of big teams. Yes, their National team still dreaming of reaching the semi-final of World Cup, but when they face big giants they are up to the challenge. Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Italy all either suffered of hardly passed Mexico when facing them in WC games (apart of Argentina 2010 game).

A complete 360 took place in the 1996 rankings from 1995. In 1995, Ajax won the European Champions Cup only to finish second to Juventus in the rankings because of the lower ranking of the Eredivisie. In 1996, Juventus defeated Ajax on penalty kicks in the final of the European Champions Cup, but still finished behind Ajax in the rankings because AC Milan was able to take the Serie A title away from Juventus.

Two interesting goals to watch, a combination of great skills and defense full of gaps.
The first from one of Spanish league divisions
and the second is at the Asian league, round 16, when the Iranian Zob Ahan smashed the Saudi Al-Nasr 4-1. Very interesting goal

One of great goals that I love in football is the goals that are smart and the player uses his head more than his feet. Last week Badr Al-Motawao, Kuwaiti player who plays for Al-Nasr from Saudi Arabia scored one of those goals against Istiqlal from Iran.
Recently, I was watching YouTube videos when I came across this wonderful goal for Zuhair Bakheet from UAE, he was one of the players that had amazing 'sensitive' skills, and was kind of the Luis Garcia for the region.
