Mark Hughes' run at Manchester City is now over as the club has fired him and has hired former
Inter Milan manager Robert Mancini to take his place. The move comes after Man City beat Sunderland
4-3 on Saturday but the club has not been in great form lately after spending spree in the summer

"A return of two wins in 11 Premier League games is clearly not in line with the targets that
were agreed and set.
Manchester City have announced the sacking of Mark Hughes as manager. The decision was reportedly
taken by the club's chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak after a disappointing recent run for City that
forced the club's owners to rethink their long term plans. City have also appointed Roberto
Mancini, lastly seen at Internazionale, as the club's new manager.
Mark Hughes says, "I was given no warning" but nonetheless he is now without a job, after being
sacked by the head boss, Khaldoon Al Mubarak. Manchester City were hoping for a better start to
their season, and even though they won against Sunderland with a fantastic 4-3 scoreline, head boss

More emerging this morning as to how the downfall of Hughes was planned, and executed, and one
which left Hughes a lame duck manager:
It emerged a verbal agreement on Mancini's three-and-a-half-year contract was reached
on December 2, as City beat Arsenal in the Carling Cup, but the board wanted to delay the
appointment until after tough games against Chelsea, Bolton and Tottenham.
