While the protests in Egypt have subsided from their peak last week, hardy anti-Mubarak protesters
still occupy Tahrir Square in the capital, Cairo. While the world was enraptured with images

groups in organizing protests, prominent Egyptian blogger Alaa abd El-Fatah told Al Jazeera .
Egypt's football fan clubs are figuring prominently in stories about the current uprising. For
readers wanting to learn more about the Ultras in Egypt and their role in the uprising, here are a

ancient art of street fighting: the country's soccer clubs.

Reigning Spanish and European champions Barcelona have offered coach Pep Guardiola a new
contract. Speaking to news agents, Barca president Sandro Rosell confirmed that the club had

It remains to be seen whether the 2022 World Cup will be played in the summer or the winter, but
one high-ranking FIFA official has a solution to ensure a winter World Cup gets played without a
problem: Move the two biggest competitions in European club soccer.
Ahead of Friday's Euro 2012 draw in the Ukraine, UEFA president Michel Platini said that he is
open to moving the UEFA Champions League and Europa League competitions in order to accommodate a

Rafa Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon has dismissed growing speculation linking the former
Liverpool manager with Paris Saint Germain.
Al Jazeera announced yesterday that that Benitez was set to take over, but Quilon swiftly issued
the following denial:
"Rafael Benitez is in Liverpool tonight having dinner with his family.
