Do Qadsia have one hand on the Kuwait Premier League? It seems so after they managed another convincing win over the weekend while champions Kuwait SC were held to a 1-1 draw by an Al Arabi side fallen on fallow times.

On Friday Kazma were made to work hard for the 90 minutes before they overcame a plucky Al Shabab.

Doha (AFP) – Moroccan international Youssef al-Arabi registered a brace as Qatar giants Lekhwiya downed UAE’s Al Jazira 3-0 on the opening day of the Asian Champions League on Monday.

Lekhwiya, who lately have experienced a slight slump in form in the domestic Qatar Stars League, hit their groove from the very outset to put the top UAE side under pressure and emerged deserving winners on a chilly evening in Doha.

As the Kuwait Branch of the Rochdale Supporters Club called it, today sees Kuwait's very own Al Classico. Al Arabia hosting Qadsia in Mansouriya, a game with two clubs big on tradition and also pretty close neigbhours, just a few stops on the number 15 bus separating the rivals.

The early days of football in the state saw Al Arabi most definitely rule the roost winning the title in six of the first seven seasons from 1961/62.

It's only been a couple of months since Nene moved from PSG to Qatari side Al-Gharafa, but he seems to be endearing himself to his new home quite nicely. The Brazilian winger was sent off after a second booking in a cup match against Al-Arabi. Nene argued the decision with the referee and Al-Arabi midfielder Houssine Kharja got between them in an attempt to end the conflict.
