Billed as the top quarterfinal match up, the match between the California Golden Bears and Akron Zips lived up to the hype.

The Zips defeated Cal in penalty kicks with MLS prospect Kofi Sarkodie slotting home the final goal to advance to the semifinals in Santa Barbara against Michigan on December 10th.

Ben Sippola has been named by the Missouri Athletic Club as one of 15 semifinalist for the prestigious Hermann Trophy. The award is given to the top male and female college soccer player in the US.

Sippola helped his Butler Bulldogs to a 16-1-3 season and was named the 2010 Horizon League Player of the year.
