Every league in world football has historic rivalries that are the highlights of each season. Spain has El Clasico,with Catalonian giants FC Barcelona squaring off against their eternal rivals, Real Madrid. Italy has the Derby della Madonnina,when cross-town rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan battle at the clubs' shared stadium, the San Siro.

Although there is no way that Ajax can advance into the next round of the UEFA Champions League, they can still at least do three things when they travel to Real Madrid's famous home, the Santiago Bernabeu on Dec.

This Wednesday, German giants Borussia Dortmund and Netherlands side Ajax will face off in a huge clash in the 2012-13 UEFA Champion's League. Dortmund currently sit first in the table with eight points, with Real Madrid in second on seven points, Ajax in third on four points, with Premier League champions Manchester City finding themselves in fourth with just two points.

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas made sure to complete the move for Belgian international and former Ajax Amsterdam captain Jan Vertonghen this summer when he took over the squad. The ground work that had been laid by Harry Redknapp and Daniel Levy was seen to fruition by the club's young manager.
Christian Eriksen has been somewhat of an enigma over the past season. So much was expected from the young play-maker at Euro 2012 as his Denmark side looked primed to pull off an upset in the Group of Death that also featured the Netherlands, Portugal, and Germany. However, the young Dane was outshone by teammate Michael Krohn-Dehli and pundits across the world of soccer were left wondering if Eriksen could cut it on the big stage.

Liverpool has made it clear that top class young talent is a major desire for them to sign in every transfer window. Last summer the links to Ajax and Danish international midfielder Christian Eriksen began and eventually faded.
