sparked speculation that toothy Ajax forward (and Uruguay 'keeper) Luis Suarez may
be on his way to Liverpool, with Babel returning to his former club on loan for the rest of the
season as part of the deal.

Chelsea the Blues owner has answered his critics by making offers of over £110million this month.

The latest Chelsea target is Liverpool's Fernando Torres and newspaper reports say that Chelsea
have had a £40million bid for the Liverpool striker turned down.

January Transfer Window: 5 potential last minute deals is a post from: Just Football
With just over a week remaining of the January transfer window 2011, teams
around Europe are busy scrambling around looking for the last big purchase or bargain buy of the
season, desperately grabbing onto whatever they can and shoving their fellow shoppers out of the
aisle like contestants on Supermarket Sweep.
Keeping goal is former Guatemalan international Edgar Estrada. He picked up 80
caps for the national side between 1995 and 2003. A back four of Emmanuel Eboue
(Ivory Coast and Arsenal), Erik Edman (Sweden and Helsingborg), Emad

Reports from the Netherlands that former Dutch international midfielder Aron Winter was flying
to Canada to sign a three-year deal to become the new head coach and technical director of Toronto
FC show just what the club is aiming for – footballing perfection.
Interim general manager Earl Cochrane said last year that Canada's first Major League Soccer
franchise was keen on playing Total Football – the Dutch soccer philosophy that emphasizes fluid
interchange between players, meaning every player other than the goalkeeper can theoretically find
himself playing anywhere on the field at any point during a game.
Repeating your own mistakes is bad. Especially when you've spent good money to bring in people to
tell you how NOT to repeat those mistakes. However, repeating other people's mistakes? There's
something special about that.
Reports out of Toronto have approximately every out-of-a-job manager eager to head north and try
to turn Toronto FC into a playoff team.
It's official now. MLSE and TFC held a press conference today to confirm that Aron Winter, Paul
Mariner, and Bob de Klerk will be joining Toronto FC. In a nutshell, here is what our staff will
look like for the new season:
Aron Winter Head Coach & Technical Director
Paul Mariner Director of Player Development
Bob de Klerk - First Assistant Coach
Earl Cochrane - Director of Team and Player Operations
Stu Neely Head of Academy
Nick Dasovic,
Jim Brennan, and
Danny Dichio will
all remain a part of the organization; official roles yet to be named
Basically, Winter is our main man.
Liverpool are reportedly in line to launch a double bid for Ajax duo Luis Suarez and Urby
Emanuelson.
According to The Telegraph, the Reds have been monitoring both players and now it would appear they
could be set to launch a €31 million swoop on the Dutch giants.
Liverpool have consistently been linked with a move for Suarez in recent weeks in their pursuit of
more potent goalscoring options.
Urby Emanuelson's agent has played down reports linking Liverpool with a move for the Ajax
defender.
Reports have suggested Liverpool have targeted the Dutch international to help solve their
problematic left-back position.
Emanuelson's future at Ajax has been the subject of speculation for some time with the player
rejecting a new deal at the Amsterdam ArenA and his contract expiring in the summer.
Luis Suarez is the name on every ones lips in the papers and on the street.
The Uraguay International is a free-scoring footballer playing with Ajax in Holland.
Daniel Comolli has watched him on several occasions and I hope John Henry spends the £15 million
needed to buy him for Liverpool as he would be a great strike partner for Torres.
As always, it's been difficult to sort through all the transfer rumours and make any informed
decision as to which of them may be true. However, according to Everton manager David Moyes, Spurs
did make a concrete bid for Steven Pienaar.
On Friday afternoon, Sky Sports gave us the breaking news that talks between Everton and Chelsea
had broken down and that the player would be making a move to a major European club imminently.
The u-turn that was hinted at yesterday looks to be almost complete as reports claim that
Everton have accepted an offer from Spurs for their midfielder Steven Pienaar. Last week, Chelsea
tabled a bid of £3m which was accepted by the Toffees and it would now appear that Tottenham, who
had initially made an offer that fell short of Chelsea's bid, have matched the asking price.
In somewhat unsuspected Liverpool FC transfer news, Ryan Babel is on his way to Hoffenheim to
discuss personal terms with the German side, despite reports that he would be used as a makeweight
in the transfer of Luis Suarez from Ajax.

The South American Youth Championship, like most youth tournaments, is dominated by
domestic-based players. After all, most national youth teams aren't going to fly the average 18
year old footballer across the world for a month in the middle of their club season. But of course
there are many 18 year old footballers who are far from average, and so there are a couple of
Europe-based players currently in Peru for the tournament.
Manchester United are officially the best supported club in Europe according to Futebol
Finance.
Futebol Finance based their analysis on attendances last season, and with an average Old
Trafford attendance of 75,304 last season, United surpassed Real Madrid, the 2009-2009 winners.
What is surprising is the lack of Premier League sides on the list.
Charlie Adam could be set to leave Blackpool this month and join Liverpool after the Reds chairman
Tom Werner declared a mountain of transfer funds will be made available to manager Kenny
Dalglish.
The 25-year-old Scotland international has expressed his desire to play at a top level club after
impressing in the Premier League this season.
Liverpool are reportedly set to turn their attentions to Lacina Traore - should they lose out on
Luis Suarez.
Suarez's protracted move to Anfield has eked out for some time now and - according to The Telegraph
- the Reds and Ajax are currently way apart in their valuation of the Uruguayan.
And, with Liverpool desperate for striking reinforcements in January, they could be forced to set
their sights elsewhere in pursuit of more potent attacking options.

Ajax manager Frank de Boer has admitted he wants any potential move by Luis Suarez to Liverpool to
be conducted quickly.
The Reds have reportedly been in contact with the Dutch club regarding Suarez, however the clubs'
valuation of the player is believed to still be some way apart.
The Merseysiders are anxious to add fire-power to their line-up as they have been over-reliant on
Fernando Torres this season which has seen them fall down the Premier League.
Liverpool is reportedly monitoring Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
According to 4-4-2, the Reds will make their move for the Frenchman if they fail to pull off a deal
for Ajax captain Luis Suarez, whose protracted move to Merseyside continues to rumble on.
Benzema – who joined Real from Lyon for £30 million in 2009 – remains on the fringes at the
Bernabeu and Liverpool are prepared to offer him a fresh start.

Drog days are over.
I have admit I scoffed at the news headlines this morning that said Chelsea had bid £40million for
Fernando Torres. Much like the Guardian's Twitter-publicised Gareth Bale non-story the day before,
I thought it was at best a PR stunt by Chelsea.
But the noises this afternoon suggest Torres may actually be on his way after all.
So, people, turns out you can stop burning those Torres shirts in the street, as Chelsea coming
in with a bid Liverpool could never accept with four days left in the January market even if Roman
Abramovich had added a one to the front of it meant and means Torres isn't leaving in the January
market, full stop.
Liverpool have agreed a £22.8m deal with Ajax for striker Luis "The Cannibal "
Suarez subject to a Medical.
Here is the latest Fernando Torres transfer news as the striker prepares for a possible shock
switch from Merseyside to Stamford Bridge in the 2011 winter transfer window. There is a lot
awaited on the Torres transfer news front as the window closes on January 31, 2011 ( Monday) at
23.00 GMT. January 28, 2011- [.

Ajax had Stanley Menzo. A sensational goalie. Athletic, strong, smiling, agile, spectacular,

From the Toronto Sun:
According to reports out of the Netherlands, former Dutch international midfielder Aron Winter has
agreed to a three-year deal with the club to become its new technical director and head coach.
Winter had spent years as an assistant with Ajax, a club he scored 50 goals for as a defensive
midfielder in his playing days.
Reasons to be cheerful.
- Leadership hirings finally completed- fans can start dreaming of the season ahead, rather than
dreading another day of TFC vacuum.
- I can't be the only one impressed with a Dutch coaching hire (Aron Winter). Although I am usually
dubious when nationalities are thrown around as the answer to any problem, the Netherlands have
supplied the world with quality players and national teams out of proportion to their population.
We talked last week about Toronto FC going after former New England Revolution assistant Paul
Mariner, well it looks like he may not be the head coach after all, instead he will be the new
technical director of the club. Now reports are saying Toronto FC will hire former Dutch midfielder
Aron Winter as their new head coach.
In the drivers' seat! At last. But...where's the steering wheel?
Ajax and Frank de Boer formally struck a deal. He will stay officially till the summer of
