Liverpool winger Ryan Babel is reportedly close to an Anfield exit, with Sunderland
ready to renew their interest.
Sar and Taument highly enjoyed their game of "bunny-hop".... Feyenoord-Ajax used to be the clincher
in the power-clash between Amsterdam and Rotterdam in the Eredivisie. But it has been quite a while
(1994) since both clubs shared the number 1 and 2 positions. What is left over from Holland's
biggest football-match.
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has shrugged aside any doubt over the immediate future of Ryan
Babel, who has been widely tipped for a winter transfer.
The 22-year-old attacker has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Anfield, having
shown only glimpses of the raw talent that earned him an £11.
Liverpool legend Jan Molby has launched a scathing attack on the club's underperforming stars,
stating that big-name players, such as Steven Gerrard and new signing Alberto Aquilani, need to
step up their game if the Reds are to achieve the top-four Premier League finish promised by their
manager Rafael Benitez.

Birmingham City's manager Alex McLeish has been told that Ryan Babel will consider a move to St
Andrews if a fee can be agreed with Liverpool.
McLeish is understood to have had a £9m offer for the 23-year-old striker rejected, despite the
fact that the Holland international has started just three Premier League games this season and has
primarily been used as a substitute.
Galatasary are ready to enter the race to sign Liverpool striker Ryan Babel, according to a report
from The Times.
The Dutchman is understood to be keen on a move to mainland Europe rather than elsewhere in
England, with a clutch of clubs ready to pounce after the Reds turned down a reported £9 million
bid from Birmingham City for the player.
Is Rafa planning a swap deal that could delight the Anfield masses?

Sunderland move for Spurs skipper Robbie Keane will allow Kenwyne Jones to join
Liverpool
Tottenham captain Robbie Keane is to join Sunderland in a £10million deal that will spark a
transfer merry go-round in the final 36 hours of the window.
Liverpool forward Ryan Babel is attracting the attention of Italian outfit Fiorentina.
The 23-year-old is being lined up as a possible replacement for Adrian Mutu, who is said to want a
move away from Florence.
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is looking to sell his fringe players as he seeks to raise money
to spend on new players in the January transfer window.

Birmingham City yesterday kicked off the January transfer sales with an £8m bid for
Liverpool's Dutch winger Ryan Babel in the first indication that new owner Carson Yeung is ready to
back his manager, Alex McLeish, with significant funds.
EPL Talk recently had the chance to interview one of the Liverpool legends, Jan Molby, when he
was in New York City to attend an event sponsored by the Liverpool FC New York Supporters Club.
Jan Molby was a legend at Liverpool and played at the club from 1984 to 1996, making more than
211 appearances in the red and white.
Arsène Wenger feels keeping his talented groups of players will allow much future success as
inspired by Ajax's "Total Football" sides.

Arsène Wenger was keen to avoid any comparative superlatives with the late 60s and early 70s
Ajax sides in 2004 but if his current side realise their fledgling potential, they should
comfortably sit alongside the legendary Dutch team.
Ryan Babel could still become a Birmingham player during the transfer window.
The player's agent, Winnie Haatrecht, has denied claims that Liverpool have rejected a £9million
offer from the Midlands club for Babel and suggests the Dutch international is open to a move away
from Anfield.
Your Funny Feeling Friday
As blogger One-One-Eight pointed out, the wintry
conditions in the UK this weekend have postponed a number of top flight games.
Thus, our Funny Feeling Friday selection this week is Evander SnoMAN.
Sno(MAN) may only be 22 years
old but I believe he has a future in the Premier League.
The big freezes has wrecked havoc on the Premier League this weekend. Five of this weekend's
English Premier League fixtures have been postponed because of concerns for the safety of
spectators making their way to grounds in freezing conditions. Saturday's Fulham v Portsmouth,
Sunderland v Bolton and Burnley v Stoke matches were all called off on Friday, as was Sunday's
Liverpool v Tottenham match at Anfield and the game between Hull and leaders Chelsea after heavy
snowfall in Hull and more postponements might be comings.
Ryan Babel has found his name the subject of debate on numerous occasions this season and that was
again the case in the opening week of the new year.
This time, though, rather than sparking chatter about why he can look a world beater one moment but
a bungling novice the next, the interest Birmingham City showed in Babel opened a completely
different can of worms.
Rafa Benitez has reiterated his desire not to sell Ryan Babel during the transfer window – as
Liverpool's bid to land Maxi Rodriguez hit a slight stumbling block.
The Holland forward was the subject of £9m bid from Birmingham City this week that was hastily
rebuffed by Benitez, who first stated his intention to keep Babel after the 1-1 FA Cup draw at
Reading seven days ago.

Rafa Benitez plans to land hitman Kenwyne Jones in a stunning swap with Ryan Babel.
The Liverpool chief hopes to agree a deal with Sunderland as he desperately needs cover for crocked
hotshot Fernando Torres.
And it will see out-of-favour Dutchman Babel head for the Stadium of Light.
The Daily Mail claims that Ryan Babel's days at Liverpool are numbered, after he complained about
his exclusion from Saturday's clash with Stoke City via his Twitter account.
The Dutch forward has struggled to make an impact at Anfield since his £11.5 million move from
Ajax in 2007, and his standing in Rafael Benitez's ranks has just become more precarious than ever.
You really can't accuse NAC Breda's Ellery Cairo of getting a cheap goal in his side's 1-1 draw
with Ajax on Sunday. As you can see at the start of the video above, Cairo found himself one-on-one
with the goalkeeper after an NAC breakaway. The keeper got the best of him on his sliding shot, but
Cairo's teammate quickly crossed the ball back to him just as he got his feet.
A goal from Gregory van der Wiel was enough to see Ajax ease past struggling AZ at the Amsterdam
Arena.

McCarthy on verge of West Ham switch
Striker Benni McCarthy's days at Blackburn are numbered after the player went missing from
training for two days seemingly in a bid to manufacture a transfer to West Ham.
Luis Suarez has been as prolific in the rumor mills as he has been on the pitch this year and
that's saying something. Thirty goals in twenty-eight games has Europe's heavyweights panting like,

Liverpool winger Ryan Babel is reportedly close to an Anfield exit, with Sunderland ready to renew
their interest.
Dutchman Babel has struggled to make a major impact on Merseyside since moving in 2007, used
sparingly by Benitez despite the Reds' lack of attacking options.
Linked with a move to Birmingham City earlier in the month, Babel has stood firm over a possible
move.
