It has been reported over various newspapers this morning and on Sky Sports News that Arsenal should confirm the signing of Ajax's young centre back who's aged 23: Thomas Vermaelen.

It is though the fee should be in the range of £10 million although I strongly doubt that considering every Arsenal transfer is price by the media at higher than it actually was, for example:

Samir Nasri - Media said £20 million he was £12 million

Arshavin - media said £20 million he was £15 million

Dutch newspaper Het Laatste is reporting that Arsenal have a greed a fee for Belgium centre half Thomas Vermaelen with Ajax. The fee is reportedly in the region of £10 million. The newspaper is saying that the player has agreed a four year contract with Arsenal.
