Well as always this summer Arsenal have been linked with many players throughout the world, but
today I have set out to create a post about the realistic players who could come to Arsenal and the
likely hood we will sign them.
Starting from defence and working up the field you can see the players below, (Please note
the word realistic because we have been linked with many players around the field and I'm only
showing as the word suggest real transfer prospects.
Well as you expect within the middle of the summer transfer season Arsenal, as always have been
linked with many players from around the world and also within England.
From the transfer rumours displayed so far this is who I would like to find lined up for the
first game next season in the premier league:
Goalkeeper
Manuel Almunia:
Why?
Seasons are coming to a close around Europe, and while many big names will make moves in the
upcoming summer transfer window, we're also going to see a few notable managers change clubs in the
near future. With that in mind, today's transfer news and rumors roundup has a little managerial
news from around Europe mixed in with the regular player transfer gossip.
As you would expect, a certain Brazilian is dominating the transfer headlines right now, and in
today's transfer news and rumors roundup, we've got the latest on that Brazilian and his potential
world-record move, and we've also got plenty to report on about from England, Spain, Italy,
Germany, and France.
Attend a soccer game, become internet famous. That's life for female football fans in 2009. We
introduce to you Ajax Amsterdam Girl 2009.
UDINESE defender Cristian Zapata claims Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing him
this summer.
The 22-year-old has made 17 league starts for Udinese this season and his performances for the
Bianconeri have not gone unnoticed.
He said: "Juventus, Fiorentina, Milan, Arsenal and Villarreal have requested information about
me.
We're into a new week, and this is a week that could get off to a big bang in the transfers
world. AC Milan star Kaka could very well make the switch to Real Madrid in the
coming days, and a few other top European clubs could nail down a few new squad additions sometime
this week as well.
It's a new week, and we've got a fresh batch of transfer news and rumors from around Europe.
We've got tidbits from England, Italy, and Germany in today's roundup, with names big, medium, and
small all being linked with moves from here to there.
England
Tottenham Enter Race for Tevez
Tottenham have joined the queue of teams looking to sign Carlos Tevez, as Spurs
are being linked with a 25m offer for the Argentine hit-man.
Arsene Wenger agreed a £10million deal for Ajax centre-back Thomas Vermaelen yesterday but is
still unsure about who will partner him at the heart of Arsenal's defence next season.
Though his agent Soren Lerby was still negotiating personal terms last night, Vermaelen seems
certain to sign a four-year contract at The Emirates after convincing the Arsenal manager he has
the credentials to shore up a defence that was repeatedly found wanting last season.
The transfer news isn't as plentiful today as it has been in the last several days, but there
are still some big names in the gossip pages today.
Manchester United are busy looking for a new striker, and while Karim Benzema
may or may not be on his way to Old Trafford sometime this summer, there's no shortage of targets
on United's striker wishlist, including one potentially surprising name.
According to Soccer365 there are even more teams after Onyewu now and few more going for Charlie
Davies. Voetbal International reports that Ajax have come in for free agent U.S. defender
Oguchi Onyewu, also adding Parma and Portsmouth to his list of suitors, while Gazzetta dello Sport
has Genoa and old suitor Livorno prowling around.
We're already halfway through the January transfer window, and while there has been more
speculation than signings thus far, that could be set to change in the next week. As you would
expect, we have the latest on Manchester City's attempts to sign Kaka, but he's not the only player
they're after, and there [.
I had been waiting and waiting for Rafael Van der Vaart to grace the English Premier League stage
but the wait kept getting more and more frustrating. The reason? Well, I wanted to feature Sylvie
Van der Vaart, Rafael's wife. She is THE WAG of all WAGs. See for yourself in this video by
Vuicy.com.
And she looks real happy in Spain in this video by sporTVyou when Rafael signed for Real Madrid.

Following the recent launch of their 09/10 Adidas away kit, Dutch powerhouse Ajax Amsterdam has
launched their brand new 2009/10 Adidas home kit. The new kit features a new crest on the upper
back area that celebrates the club's history. Its basic design appears to be similar to that of the
2009/10 Adidas AC Milan home [.
Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam have unveiled their new 2009-10 away strip. The black shirt is
manufactured by Adidas, and has red stripes running down from the collar to the middle of the
sleeves. Sponsors AEGON have their logo in the centre, with the Adidas and Ajax Amsterdam club
logos also present. See the photo of [.
Tribal Football has what the owner of Ajax has to say... Ajax director Rik van den Boog has
confirmed his club's interest in signing Oguchi Onyewu on a free transfer from Standard Liege.
The 27-year-old is at the end of his contract with the Belgian outfit and has also reportedly
attracted the interest of Fenerbahce and a number of English clubs.
Today has been quite a day for news stories reporting Arsenal FC; there has been transfer news,
Wenger's quote's about various issues and stupid newspaper columnists sledging us over and over
again. But let's calm down.
News reports on Huntelaar
It has been clear knowledge for a day now that Huntelaar is not keen on a mover to Stuggart even
though Real have agreed a fee.
On behalf of some of my MLSR colleagues, I have the following tidbits mainly from Tribal
Football:
-Jozy Altidore could be going on loan to Hull City
-Michael Bradley could go back to PSV Eindhoven or Feyenoord
-Freddy Adu wants to go Dutch, not just for the big teams like Ajax and Feyenoord, but even NAC
Breda or FC Groningen if he gets a chance to play and develop
-Bryan Arguez is on trial with Belgium giants Charleroi
-Tony Taylor, a USMNT U-20 striker, is on trial with IK Start
What do you think?
That's FC Volendam goalkeeper Jeroen Verhoeven. He is, to put it nicely, plump. Quite plump. In
fact he might just be the only player in the Eredivisie over 100kg, and he's almost certainly the
only footballer in a European top flight who makes Andy Reid look svelte. So when bottom - very
bottom - Volendam traveled [.
It's been a busy week in the transfers world, and just because it's the weekend doesn't mean
that there's going to be a break of any sort.
Today's transfer news and rumors roundup includes news of a couple of confirmed signings and a
few more that are set to be completed in the next few days, and of course, a transfer roundup can't
be complete without an outlandish rumor or two!
Here I am, 24 days after my last part of last's season review, putting down some thoughts about
all the news we read about in the last month. I didn't have much to write about lately so I
preferred to stay quiet and let the rest of the team update you guys with news and transfer
rumours. But today, I want to share some thoughts with you, plenty of them actually.
I'm giddy with excitement. Gooch, to the club that produces players of the highest quality.
I could go on for hours stating the fantastic players that have come out of that club, but I'll
spare you. Read on...Oguchi Onyewu showed why he is such a great player at the Confederations
Cup, and Ajax's reported interest is a fitting reward for a great tournament.
The international break is the best time to talk about the players we wish to see at Old Trafford
in the New Year. The January transfer window is opening in 50 days, so first, I wish the glazers
show...

Arsenal are close to signing Thomas Vermaelen for around £10m. But will the highly rated Ajax
centre-back turn out to be the new Tony Adams, or the next Philippe Senderos? From what I've seen
of the 23-year-old Belgian (on...
Arsenal is preparing a multi-million offer for Ajax defender Thomas Vermaelen, according to Dutch
newspaper AD Sportwereld. Vermaelen has left a good impression for Arsenal since playing for the
Belgium national team and Ajax. Thomas Vermaelen joined Ajax in 2004. Vermaelen was a youth product
of Belgian club Germinal Beerschot, and he has been followed last transfer [.
It has been reported over various newspapers this morning and on Sky Sports News that Arsenal
should confirm the signing of Ajax's young centre back who's aged 23: Thomas Vermaelen.
It is though the fee should be in the range of £10 million although I strongly doubt that
considering every Arsenal transfer is price by the media at higher than it actually was, for
example:
Samir Nasri - Media said £20 million he was £12 million
Arshavin - media said £20 million he was £15 million
You get the point.
In addition to the teams we last mentioned in pursuit of US defender Oguchi Onyewu, a few more have
joined the pack. Perennial Dutch power Ajax are said to be interested in Gooch, as well and the
French media are now seeing renewed interest from PSG and Marseille. There are also reports out of
Belgium that he "is not closing the door on a longer stay at Standard" yet either.
Ajax striker Luis Suarez looks set to be one of the summer's hottest transfer targets with news
emanating from Holland that scouts from a host of top European clubs have been monitoring his
progress. Manchester United are known to be confirmed admirers of the 22-year-old and it now
appears that Liverpool have joined their close rivals and AC Milan in sending representatives to
the Amsterdam Arena.
It has been announced today in "The Guardian" newspaper that Real Madrid have sent a fax to many
premier league clubs telling them of Real Madrid players up for sale. Within this list is Klaas-Jan
Huntelaar who has been linked with Arsenal for a while and if and I say if Adebayor is sold then he
could definitely be a worth while (and in my opinion better) replacement.
Just because a player was once brilliant on the pitch doesn't mean he'll be brilliant off it in the
front offices. See: Zinedine Zidane. "Kaka has already signed for Real. I would be happy if he were
to take my number, the No 5, I would not be jealous." Oops. Kind of moots that whole 'Monday
decision', [.
Dutch newspaper Het Laatste is reporting that Arsenal have a greed a fee for Belgium centre half
Thomas Vermaelen with Ajax. The fee is reportedly in the region of £10 million. The newspaper is
saying that the player has agreed a four year contract with Arsenal.
As yet there is no confirmation on either club's website nor from the player.
Every summer Arsenal are linked with a whole host of unknown, young and unproven players. However,
after the recent acquisition of Ajax skipper Thomas Vermaelen, it seems that Arsene Wenger may be
going for the more 'experienced'-type players. Gooner Talk have put together a list of five
Defensive Midfielders who have been linked with Arsenal, [.
So Arsène Wenger has done it again. Not content with making one big money,
straight-to-first-team signing this year, he has gone and produced another.
The need for a new centre half at the Emirates has been well documented (and slightly
exaggerated if you ask me) of late, with Kolo Touré's alarming loss of form, William Gallas'
injury and temperament issues, and Mikaël Silvestre's.
Arsenal fans want a similar implementation of Barcelona's formation but it is not as simple as
4-3-3.

"Pressure, pressure, pressure!" Pep Guradiola insists were it not for the suffocating pressuring
of opponents caused by his team, his side would not have been as successful.
Dennis Bergkamp is 40 years old but still can't get enough from football. Here he plays with Old
Ajax and scores a beauty of a goal. Watch how he walks back before the ball is in the goal. I'm
sure he could still teach Huntelaar and Van Persie a trick or two. Hell,
Gunners used forest to make sure they weren't barking up the wrong tree Arsenal defender Thomas
Vermaelen has revealed club scout Steve Rowley went to great lengths to keep tabs on him while the
club considered making a bid for him. Rowley stalked the then Ajax man to the Belgian seaside
resort of Oostduinkerke to watch him [.
I'm sure Johan Cruyff (or Cruijjff, if you prefer) had performed his famous turn long before the
1974 Wolrd Cup. He was probably Cruyff Turning all over the place while playing football for Ajax
in the '60s and '70s. But that was long before YouTube, long before footage from any league in the
world could be uploaded and shared globally.
Dutch powerhouse Ajax Amsterdam has launched their brand new 2009/10 Adidas away kit. it will be
