The news American fans have been anxiously awaiting to hear for months has arrived. Charlie Davies is back to full training for FC Sochaux.

Davies has recovered from the multiple injuries he suffered in a fatal car accident last October and resumed full contact training on Thursday, Davies confirmed to SBI on Monday.

That's right, Ligue 1 kick-off is scheduled to start in just a short amount of time. And for American fans who thought they would be relegated to watching feeds online all season, there is some good news. Two channels will be showing Ligue 1 this year, allowing fans to see (up to) four games a weekend.

Yes it's that time again and just like the rest of you I am pumped to see how the group stages are going to play out. For the draw, the 32 teams are split into four seeding pots depending on each club's coefficient. Every group will contain one team from each of the seeding pots, though no club can play a side from their own association and there are further procedures determining the exact placing of each contender.

It's that time again! The draw for the UEFA Champions League group stage has been completed in Monaco today. With the UEFA Europa League draw not taking place until tomorrow afternoon the spotlight was firmly fixed on Europe's premier football competition which was won by Internazionale FC last season.

Hello again. It's been a long time since I've posted here. Life had taken me in some different directions and I had settled into retirement from football punditry. As the cliche goes, old habits are hard to break so here I am again for another Champions League season.

St Etienne may have only tied AJ Auxerre, but it received good news before the match with the return of Carlos Bocanegra to its starting eleven.

Having not played in a match since Oct. 17 due to a neck injury, Bocanegra started and went the distance in the 1-1 draw with Auxerre.

Slovenian forward Valter Birsa may not score goals in bunches, but the U.S. national team will have to be wary of his lethal left foot on free kicks this summer.
