Northern Colorado got the season off to a promising start on Friday night as the Bears traveled
to Wyoming and came away with a 2-1 win.
Goals from Danielle Birdsall in the 32nd and 51st minutes proved to be enough for the Bears.
Jenny Johnson's goal in the 53rd minute off an assist from Nahiomy Ortiz brought the Cowgirls
within striking distance, but the hosts were unable to close the gap.
The Air Force women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 match to Dayton Sunday morning at the Cadet
Soccer Stadium. The loss drops the Falcons 2-2 on the season, while the Flyers improved to 3-1.
Dayton scored the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute. Colleen Williams took a pass from
the right corner from Alli Giner and headed the ball in for the goal.
