Rapids GK Steward Ceus has tweeted that he'll be returning to the USL-2 Charlotte Eagles on loan
again this year. Ceus joined Charlotte in June last year for the remaining part of their season,
playing 10 times for them and helped to lead the Eagles to a 4th place finish and runners-up in the
Championship game.
Northern Colorado got the season off to a promising start on Friday night as the Bears traveled
to Wyoming and came away with a 2-1 win.
Goals from Danielle Birdsall in the 32nd and 51st minutes proved to be enough for the Bears.
Jenny Johnson's goal in the 53rd minute off an assist from Nahiomy Ortiz brought the Cowgirls
within striking distance, but the hosts were unable to close the gap.
The Air Force women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 match to Dayton Sunday morning at the Cadet
Soccer Stadium. The loss drops the Falcons 2-2 on the season, while the Flyers improved to 3-1.
Dayton scored the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute. Colleen Williams took a pass from
the right corner from Alli Giner and headed the ball in for the goal.
Sri Racha have won Division One and will be/should be promoted to the Thai Premier League next
season. Joining them could be/should be Khon Kaen and Chiang Rai United.
Going in the other direction are Army, Bangkok United and Si Sa Ket. Possibly.
At the moment there seems to be some confusion as to how many teams will go down, how many will go
up and how many teams will be in the Thai Premier League next season.
The Thai Premier League will be expanded to 18 teams next season and to celebrate the Thai
authorities have come up with another batch of games for knackered players to take part in.
They will hold a play off between the three bottom TPL sides, Army, Bangkok United, Si Sa Ket, and
the teams that finished 4th, 5th and 6th in Division One, Songkla, Nakorn Pathom and Air Force
United.
DU men's soccer player Jarod Stigall was a third team selection to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Men's
Team of the Season, the national website announced Wednesday.
