Debut goals by Kieran Gibbs, Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, and Yossi Benayoun guided the Gunners to a
3-1 win over Shrewsbury Town, a side who showed a fair bit of skill and fighting spirit.
Arsene Wenger went to his crop of promising youngsters and new signings to trot out Chamberlain,
Carl Jenkinson, Ignasi Miquel, Yossi Benayoun, Park Chu Young, and Francis Coquelin.
After surviving the shock of falling a goal behind to their League Two opponents, struggling
Arsenalcame back to beat Shrewsbury Town 3-1 and comfortably progress into the fourth round of
the Carling Cup at the Emirates Stadium.
The visitors stunned the Emirates crowd after 16 minutes when James Collins's bullet header beat
Lukasz Fabianski, and a major upset looked to be possible.

Quote from The Official Wycombe Wanderers website:
World-Cup winning striker Fernando Torres was on the scoresheet as Chelsea recorded a
3-0 victory over the Wanderers in a practice match at Cobham on Tuesday afternoon.
Yossi Benayoun danced through the visiting defence to open the scoring in the early stages and
Nikki Bull produced a fine stop to deny Didier Drogba, while Scott Rendell missed Wycombe's best
chance of the half from a tight angle.

Football League
The Football League has announced the final shortlists ahead of The Football League Awards 2011
with the release of the nominations for the npower Player of the Year in each division, The
Football League Young Player of the Year and EA SPORTS Outstanding Team Performance awards.
Shrewsbury 1-0 Stevenage (Wroe 38)
Highlights | BBC Report
Not good. Five games it is now without a win and it's a run that looks like it has a while to
go yet before it gets better. A solitary goal from Nicky Wroe was enough to give the Shrews the
victory today. Boro didn't play well, but did create some chances late on as they pushed for a
point.

From Messageboard Poster, 'Bushman': "Built by The Great Western Railway
Company. Opened in November 1907, Park Royal Stadium held 60,000 including 9,000 under cover 4,000
seated. Whilst there, Ranger's won the Southern League Championship in 1907/08 and 1911/12.The Army
commandeered Park Royal in February 1915 and Rangers finished the season back at Kensal Rise before
moving to Loftus Rd in 1919 where the original Main Stand came from the Park Royal Stadium.
January starts with the usual flurry of transfer rumours.
The biggest has to be the possible move of Ronaldinho to Blackburn. I hope his agent works in a
release clause for when Rovers get relegated, as great a player Ronaldinho used to be, I don't
think his list of career ambitions includes sitting on the coach to Hull, Preston and Swansea.

League 2 - Saurday 1st January 2011
Cheltenham started like a team who had won 4-0 in their previous game and were confident another
was well within their capabilities. It certainly seemed the case for most of the first half. Early
chances came to Pack and Melligan. The Robins out passed Wycombe and looked a classier act.
