According to Sky Sports, Celtic could soon make a move for Birmingham forward James
McFadden.
Aiden McGeady is currently mulling over a 10m move to Spartak Moscow, and even if he doesn't
make the move to Russia, it looks highly unlikely that he'll be at Celtic Park when the summer
transfer window closes, with the likes of Aston Villa also interested in the Ireland
international.
The results of the 2010-11 UCL group stage draw (projected advancers in blue):
GROUP A
- Inter Milan
- Werder Bremen
- Tottenham
- FC Twente
Inter, the defending champions of Europe, are the easy pick here, even sans The Special One.

According to Colin Tattum at the Birmingham Mail, Celtic winger Aiden
McGeady is not for sale despite interest from Birmingham. McGeady is
rated at around £10million.
Ryan Babel could still become a Birmingham player during the transfer window.
The player's agent, Winnie Haatrecht, has denied claims that Liverpool have rejected a £9million
offer from the Midlands club for Babel and suggests the Dutch international is open to a move away
from Anfield.

After already having a £10 million bid rejected by Celtic, Birmingham have returned with a
substantial £14 million offer for winger Aiden McGeady.
DUBLIN - O técnico italiano Giovanni Trapattoni convocou nesta segunda-feira a seleção irlandesa

Greg Cunningham e James McCarthy são as novidades da equipe para a partida.

City e McCarthy é um meio-campista de 19 anos do Wigan.

According to Sky Sports, Spartak Moscow have made a bid of €10 million (£8.3
million) for Celtic's Aiden McGeady.
A flock of representatives from the Russian club reportedly flew in to Glasgow last week in the
hope of discussing a move for McGeady and have now, after positive initial discussions, made a firm
offer for the Irish winger.
According to Ronnie Cully at the Evening Times, Birmingham City have cooled
their interest in Celtic midfielder Aiden McGeady. It is reported
that Birmingham will not try and sign McGeady unless his price drops to as low as £6million.
Martin O'Neill had an extremely successful spell as manager of Celtic and clearly still holds the
club very close to his heart. At the moment, there is one player at the club he is particularly
fond of - Aiden McGeady.
The Aston Villa boss - who is preparing to sell James Milner this summer - has revealed his
admiration for the Celtic midfielder.
Celtic get their Champions League campaign underway tonight in a second round qualifier match
against Portuguese side Braga. The first leg of the tie is to be played in Portugal and Celtic will
be hopeful of getting at least an away goal from the match to set themselves up for a chance of
progressing to the final qualifying round.
Much sought after winger, Aiden McGeady is set to fly out to Russia and hold talks with Spartak
Moscow. The Irishman has had a tough time of late, injuries and constant speculation about his
future must have turned his head.
A bid of £9.5m is thought to be enough to make Celtic happy.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has endured a frustrating week as the Hoops returned from their North
American tour in disappointing form. Furthermore, the speculation surrounding the future of winger
Aiden McGeady has not made it any easier for Lennon to instill focus in a squad that is on the
verge of UEFA Champions League elimination.
Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni realizes that a move to Spartak Moscow could turn out to be
an exciting challenge for talented winger Aiden McGeady but the Italian has still made it a point
to remind the Celtic player about the downside of playing club football in Russia.
According to Trap, the vastly different style of Russian football as well as the challenges of
adjusting to life so far away from home can hinder the development of McGeady.
UPDATE: According to Ken Montgomery at the Birmingham Mail, Aiden
McGeady is set to join Spartak Moscow. It is reported
that the deal is worth around £9.5million.
July 15th, 2010: According to the Express and Star, Celtic
manager Neil Lennon admitted that Aiden McGeady
wants to leave the club.
Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given has stated he will consider his future at Manchester City if
he's not selected for the opening game of the new Barclays Premier League season against Tottenham
Hotspur this weekend.
Given, who has recovered from a shoulder injury that saw him miss the final three games of last
season, is in a battle with Joe Hart for the number one shirt at Eastlands and is considering a
transfer or loan move if he's not picked this weekend.
Aiden McGeady, the pride of Celtic Park for so many years, has completed a
reported £9.5-10m move to Spartak Moscow. Celtic fans will clearly be
disappointed by this, as no one wants to lose a club hero like that. However, having personally
spoken to Celtic manager Neil Lennon when Celtic were in Boston to play Sporting Lisbon, I think
this is great news.
Celtic winger Aiden McGeady has completed his move to Spartan Moscow.
The Russian side has made McGeady the most expensive export ever in Scottish football, landing
him for around 9.8 million pounds, and the Ireland international has penned a four-year deal with
the capital club.

In Glasgow, Scotland, the year 1690 is today's date. No, don't check your calendar, this
calendar only sells in the West of Scotland. And if you need more confirmation of this fact, just
ask Aiden McGeady, the former Glasgow Celtic player who has just made a move from Celtic to Spartak
Moscow, not for soccer reasons, but because of death threats.
Republic of Ireland winger Aiden McGeady's move from Celtic to Spartak Moscow has really
baffled me. McGeady claims he made the move to Russia to escape the constant death threats he
received while playing in Scotland after he declared for the Republic of Ireland rather than
Scotland at International Level.
