For the second time in a row, Atletico Madrid's visit to Camp NOu turned out to be a nightmare. But it was better than last time, I mean they score one more and conceded one less too this time around. With this heavy defeat Atletico's start to the season has gone from bad to worse. First half goals from Ibrahmovic, Messi, Alves and Keita, and an injury time strike from Messi condemned Atletico's to their heaviest defeat this season.

Tonight is another must win game as time is beginning to run out on the national team's WC qualifying campaign.

Though not official, the following starting lineup was the one that played in yesterday's practice session:

Sergio Romero

Javier Zanetti
Sebastian Domínguez
Gabriel Heinze
Emiliano Papa

Javier Mascherano
Fernando Gago
Juan Sebastián Verón
Jesús Dátolo

Lionel Messi
Sergio Agüero

It is really hard to understand why Maradona is making a GK change for such a critical WC qualifier tonight.

First off, a happy Eid to all who celebrate it, and particularly to Barca's muslim players, Keita, Yaya and Abidal! Right now we're running late and you'll have to excuse us the match report for Barca-Atletico; but we've rounded up all the post-match tidbits:

An airborne Argentinian. Say it isn't so. Crespo shows his aerial abilities.

Please help out Don Diego.

He should go for a 4-2-3-1 with either Diego Milito, Gonzalo Higuain, and the best of the lot, poacher exemplar Hernan Crespo as the lone striker allowing the three man attacking midfield in Datolo, Aguero, and Messi to become more creative, open up the spaces, and create goal scoring opportunities.

The Palermo callup has added more fuel to the ongoing debate about who should play alongside Messi in the starting lineup.

Against Brasil, Will Maradona go with the short but skillfull players like Aguero or Tevez?

or

Will he go with the in the box forward that many people think Argentina needs to have in the lineup?

Anyone watching Barcelona's midweek game in the Champions League against Inter, hoping to see the side that bought beautiful football all around Europe last season might have come away a little dissapointed. A 0-0 you say? That doesn't seem the Barca way. Of course it isn't, and they do seem to [...]

Spanish heavyweights Atletico Madrid are still seeking their first La Liga victory this season. In four games they've drawn two and lost two and they face the daunting task of traveling to Valencia's Mestalla Stadium on Saturday as they attempt to get it right at the fifth attempt.

Over the last couple of weeks my 'game of the week' style articles have focused heavily on English football, being English this is understandable but I will certainly be checking out La Liga action on Saturday night.
