The Mexican Primera Division 2009 Apertura has reached its final and began with the first leg on
Thursday, December 10, 2009. Monterrey hosted Cruz Azul in the first leg in what ended up being a
very high scoring match. The second leg will be at Cruz Azul on Sunday, December 13 at 18:00 EST.

Colo Colo are one of Chile's most popular clubs and the only one to have ever won the Copa
Libertadores. Yesterday, after a 6-4 aggregate win over Universidad Catolica, Colo Colo became

Cruz Azul v Monterrey
Monterrey are the champions of the Mexican Apertura 2009 after defeating Cruz Azul 2-1 away to
complete a wild 6-4 aggregate win (the first leg of the final finished 4-3 in Monterrey a few days
ago). This is the third time that Cruz Azul have advanced to the final in the last four
tournaments, and it's also the third time that they have fallen short at the last hurdle.

Marathón won their eighth league championship after defeating Motagua 2-1 on aggregate in the
Honduran Apertura final played on 22/25 November.

keep that streak intact.

On Friday, December 18th, UEFA announced the match-ups for the 1st knockout round of the Champions
League. After group play the top two teams from each group advanced to the knockout round, 16 teams
in total. For the draw teams could not be matched up against a team from their home country or a
team from their qualifying group.
