Reports in the media suggest that Arsenal are chasing the signature of want-away Liverpool defender
Daniel Agger. Liverpool have been in shocking form this season and manager Roy Hodgson may not even
make it though the next 24 hours as manager after a humiliating defeat away at Blackburn has piled
even more misery onto him, the [.
It has been a quite quiet day today for Arsenal transfer rumours. It is well accepted that it is a
question of a center-back or nothing when it comes to signings, the manager is waiting on the
diagnosis of Sebastian Squillaci's injury after Thomas Vermaelen had yet another setback in
training, Italian full-back Davide Santon is [.

Improved tactics and hard work lead to the right result. It's the first time this season that
Liverpool have gone behind in a league match and went on to win.
For the fifth year running. Not for those with weak stomachs.

The most embarrassing defeat in a season full of them.
We saw a side more shapeless than against Blackpool. A loss more unexpected than the 2-0 drubbing
at Stoke, and far more unexpected that the deserved thumping suffered at Manchester City.
Two big FA Cup matches are on television today. The first featuring Manchester United against
Liverpool, where Kenny Dalglish returns for his first game in charge of the club again. The second
features Leicester City, managed by Sven Goran-Eriksson against Manchester City. Both ties promise
to be very entertaining.

So much for a storybook return.
1st minute, Webb gives a penalty for Berbatov's clear dive. 32nd minute, Webb shows Gerrard a
straight red for a tackle similar to one Rafael went unpunished for.
Long live the King
Liverpool fans are often claimed to be some of the most rational and intelligent in the world.
They hardly ever turn on a manager (and Hodgson very nearly turned on them first) and they know the
difference between a bad team and a team that is being badly managed.

The perfect start, fitting for a new era. Then the old era crept in. It's going to take more than
"good feelings" to fix this side.
Liverpool recently sacked Roy Hodgson after an underwhelming campaign and brought in former boss
and club legend Kenny Dalglish to take the reins on a temporary basis. But the Scot is yet to taste
victory in his second stint at the helm.
His first game in charge was against Manchester United in the FA Cup, which ended in a 1-0 defeat
to his side.

The transfer window's winding down already, though it feels like just yesterday Liverpool was
getting hammered by Wolves at home and I was writing poor Conrad knock-offs to cope with Hodgson's
continuing employment. But back to the transfer window, and today's poll question: If you could
force one transfer through, at which position does the squad most need strengthening if it is to
move up the table and see success in Europe?
