With the season underway it is already looking like it may be dominated by at least 3 of the Big

Benitez has ruled out both Lucas and Mascherano, with this game coming too soon after their return
from the Olympics, but hopes they'll be back for Sunday.
Never mind merely documenting certain events or quoting statements made by the parties involved.
Carragher has chosen to have a right go at the owners of LFC in his autobiography. He calls them
ruthless and accuses them of breaking promises and profiteering (link).
Carragher has a huge profile, but I doubt it's big enough to take on Hicks & Gillett.

I wanted to post about the Lucerne friendly.
Andrea Dossena yesterday made his long-awaited debut for Liverpool, who settled for a 1-1 draw in
their friendly against Wisla Krakow.
Dossena arrived from Udinese earlier this month but had not yet featured due to some minor
clearance problems. But the Italian defender finally took his bow in Krakow last night, lasting 60
minutes before being replaced by Argentine youngster Emiliano Insua.
3pm Eastern Time. As far as I can tell, it's not on TV in the States. Last year, the 3rd round of
CL qualifying was on GolTV, but they're showing the Bayern Munich friendly tomorrow.

so Mikael Silvestre is a an Arsenal player. How very odd. The club confirmed the signing of the
former United man yesterday for a fee believed to be around £750,000 and he signed a 2 year
deal. Arsene Wenger said:

See, every now and then, Liverpool can actually complete transfers at something other than a
snail's pace.
After posting about Robbie Keane on Saturday, I certainly didn't expect the deal to be finalized by
Monday afternoon. Even as late as this morning, the Liverpool Echo was reporting that the medical
would take place today, with an announcement no earlier than tomorrow.
Liverpool vs Middlesbrough: Rafa seeking to maintain a good start
Liverpool vs Middlesbrough is a tricky one for Rafa, particularly in the white hot pressure of the
Premier League. The expectations on Liverpool are such that Rafa Benitez is one bad result from a
wave of pressure, particularly at the start of the season.
Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia has today admitted he will consider his future after been left out
Rafa Benitez' plans for the Champions League. The Finland international has been omitted from the
club's 25-man panel for the Champions League group stages, weeks after the club rejected an offer
from Stoke City for the player.
Liverpool FC have named both Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard in their squad to face Manchester
United at Anfield tomorrow.
The duo have been forced out in recent weeks with hamstring and groin problems respectively.
Boss Rafa Benitez is hopeful both may feature at some stage.
