Guus Hiddink has confirmed his departure as head coach of the Russian national team when his contract expires on June 30. Having led Russia to the semifinals of the 2008 European Championship, Hiddink failed to guide the Russians to the World Cup, falling to Slovenia in a two-game playoff.

Although most leagues are done for the season, this weekend still boasts several intriguing fixtures as far as the Americans Abroad contingent is concerned.

U.S. players began arriving in Philadelphia this weekend to take physicals before the start of training camp in Princeton, and it was discovered that forward Eddie Johnson has a hamstring injury.

Alejandro Bedoya has permission to report late for training for the U.S. World Cup team's camp in Princeton.

Speculation that certain La Liga clubs are interested in AGF Aarhus midfielder Benny Feilhaber were confirmed by the American himself, though a transfer looks to be only a slight possibility this winter.

The United States Men's National Team will face off against fellow World Cup qualifiers Honduras tomorrow in a friendly at the Home Depot Center. Of the 28 players that were called into camp in preparation for the game, none has earned more caps than AGF Aarhus midfielder Benny Feilhaber, who is now reportedly attracting interest from a handful of Spanish teams.

Benny Feilhaber became the latest U.S. national team player to be bitten by the injury bug on Monday, and could wind up missing the United States' upcoming friendly vs. the Netherlands because of it.

Feilhaber picked up an ankle injury during AGF Aarhus' training session on Monday, and is undergoing scans to determine the extent of the injury.

Some of Manchester United's fears heading into the club's Champions League quarterfinals match against Bayern Munich were eased on Monday, as Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney were deemed fit enough to play.

Rooney and Ferdinand missed United's 4-0 dismantling of Bolton Wanderers over the weekend with a bruised foot and groin injury, respectively, but the English duo made the trip to Germany on Monday morning.

U.S. coach Bob Bradley decided that even with Charlie Davies's remarkable recovery from a near-fatal car crash seven months ago, that he was not ready to play in a World Cup game. So Bradley left Davies off his 30-man U.S. preliminary roster today. Also left off the list are Colorado forward Conor Casey and Freddy Adu.

As European soccer moves into full swing in the coming weeks there are still a handful of American players with uncertain club futures across the pond.

Whether it's members of the U.S. World Cup team, players on the national team fringe, and at least one former prospect at a career crossroads, there is still plenty of uncertainty surrounding several foreign-based American players.

The Benny Feilhaber question is a common one these days for American players abroad. What do you do when you seem to be in serious limbo? Being without a club is not a comfortable situation especially when the transfer window is closing in just a few short days.

Feilhaber's purgatory may not last much longer, however, at least according to his agent.

The biggest rumors circulating center around a pair of Manchester City strikers, with Robinho slated to move to AC Milan, and Emmanuel Adebayor reportedly preparing for a loan move to Tottenham (Though fresh report insist Adebayor and goalkeeper Shay Given are staying put).

Benny Feilhaber completed his recovery from the ankle injury that sidelined him nearly six weeks by coming off the bench in AGF Aarhus' 4-0 victory against Esbjerg on Wednesday.

Feilhaber made a 20-minute cameo for Aarhus and his appearance marked the first time he's played for the club since December.

The 30-man preliminary roster for the USMNT's pre-World Cup training camp is less than 24 hours away from being revealed (Tuesday @ 2 p.m. ET, live on ESPN News) and the excitement among American supporters is palpable.
Will the recent goal-scoring exploits of Edson Buddle and Herculez Gomez be enough to get their foot in the door for a shot at going to South Africa.

Nicklas Bendtner as expected made the 23 man squad choosen by Denmark manager Morten Olsen, A suprise inclusion in the squad was Thomas Sorensen not by merit but by injury. Sorensen dislocated his elbow a couple of weeks ago and looked a doubt for South Africa but it looks like Olsen will take him just in case he will be able to use him in their opening game against The Netherlands on June 14th
