For the Seattle Sounders the month of September starts with a long rest, at least during a three season competition. Considering the way that the schedule gets so crowed with MLS, US Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions League and finally the MLS Cup Playoffs in October this chance at rest combined with a home heavy schedule gives the Sounders a chance to go into the fury of a stretch as strong as they ever have.

In August the Seattle Sounders are firmly entrenched in three tournaments, and none will be easy. The schedule isn't just rough. It is downright brutal. Back when June started, we noted the Gold Cup that drew down some rosters and helped the Seattle Sounders to a 4th place standing by points per match, 2nd by raw points. While July also has some Copa America action, the roster lightening isn't as significant. What is meaningful is that July will have the opportunity for runs in several trophies to be made.

If you're like me, you're thinking that a press release (and media conference call to follow) indicates that the Revs are dead-set on keeping Benny in Boston. I've already hashed out why this is a good idea in my previous post, so I thought I'd share the press release with all of you as confirmation.
