So the Italian press, including La Gazetta dello Sport (who published
this photo of Samuel Eto'o in his Ferrari... oooh!) are all rubbing their hands over the
prospect of the striker returning to Milan for a brief spell. Well, obviously he's not going to
ditch his lavish private jet and everything that comes with playing for Russian
Cha-cha-millionaires Anzhi in exchange for dreary, boring mozzarella
cheese (kkk, quite the contrary actually).
The African Cup of Nations is just a couple of weeks away and Tottenham striker Emmanuel
Adebayor is already predicting a tough title challenge for Manchester City.
The Citizens are set to lose their most influential player of the season so far-Yaya Toure. Yaya
who was also named as the African player of the Year 2011 has been in scintillating form for City
helping them to a first place finish in the league for the first time in 82 years since Christmas
1929.
It's been a familiar season at the Grove in 2010/2011, with polished, mature performances
against Barcelona and Chelsea, along with unforgettably poor and pathetic one's against Birmingham,
Tottenham, and who can forget Newcastle.
You could say we've made progress in some areas this season.
I went into a state of utter despondency at the end of this transfer window, even allowing for
the entry into the Champions League stages failed to lift my spirits. The 8-2 thrashing by
Manchester United rubbed salt into very big wounds. I took a break to reflect, the International
Break helped in a sense, to enable common sense to dawn.
How silly and embarrassed the players, officials and supporters of the South Africa soccer team
must feel.
In their final game of the qualification rounds to try to reach the 2012 African Nations Cup,
South Africa coach Pitso Mosimane believed that all his team needed was a draw to qualify for the
tournament.
Today is a celebration to all of the people in Libya by the death of one of the worst criminals,
not just in Libya, but in the whole Middle East. I remember once, I heard a historian describing
him as craziest leader ever been in the Arab world in several hundreds of years. As I join
celebration with the rest of world, I share few stories I heard either from TV, or read about them,
on Gaddhafi family madness and crimes in football:
- 1982: Libya organized African Nations Cup, and Libyan team did the best in their history,
reaching the final, only to lose to Ghana by penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie.
LUBUMSASHI, DR Congo Morocco and South africa will host the 2015 and 2017 editions of the Nations
Cup respectively Morocco have won the right to stage the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations while South
Africa will host the 2017 edition. The decision was taken at a meeting of the executive committee
of the Confederation [.

Bafana Bafana vs Kenya is going to be one of those matches where the boys are quick out of the
starting block according to coach Pitso Mosimane.
The encounter against the Harambee Stars will be the coach's last chance to see his team in
competitive action ahead of next month's crucial African Nations Cup qualifier with Egypt.
Keeping up with events in football here in Indonesia ain't easy. Singapore perhaps is harder given
the lack of publicity the game gets there. But what about Liberia?
Persipura playmaker Zah Rahan has been recalled to the Liberian national team for their game
against Cape Verde on 26 March in African Nations Cup qualifier.

Hello from an extremely miserable Dublin. Honestly, this summer is worse than getting really
drunk at a party then waking up in a strange bed to find yourself spooning the John Terry girl.
And if that doesn't start your Friday off the right way then I don't know what will. If it
hasn't, perhaps the news that we've agreed a £10.
Five of the eight places for the 2013 Confederations Cup have now been decided and already
the line-up looks tasty already.
BRAZIL - Hosts
SPAIN - World Cup holders
JAPAN - Asian Cup 2011 winners
MEXICO - Gold Cup 2011 winners
URUGUAY - Copa America 2011 winners
These famous five will be joined by the winners of Euro 2012, the 2013 African Nations Cup and next
year's Oceania championship.
South Africa and Libya have agreed to swap hosting rights for their respective African Nations
Cup tournaments. The arrangement, if ratified by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) at a
meeting in Cairo next month, will see South Africa organise the continental tournament in 2013 and
Libya in 2017, giving the war-torn nation more time to prepare.
There is yet more bad news for Arsenal today because midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has chosen to
play for Ghana instead of England. This means that if he is selected for the African Nations Cup he
will miss vital games during the new year period. Frimpong, 19, has played for England at both
Under-16 and Under-17 [.
Egypt have appointed former United States coach Bob Bradley as national team manager, state news
agency MENA said on Wednesday.
Bradley replaces long-standing coach Hassan Shehata who left in June after holders Egypt struggled
in qualifying for the 2012 African Nations Cup finals. They have since been eliminated.
Senegalese hitman Demba Ba got off the mark for the season in style against Blackburn Rovers at
the weekend, hitting a hat-trick at St. James's Park in a near-perfect performance for both him and
the Magpies as a whole in front of their home crowd.
Andy Carroll's shock departure last winter, along with fellow starts Kevin Nolan and Joey Barton
also leaving Tyneside this summer, has left the supporters in want of another high-profile goal
getter who can propel them to higher ambitions.
By Walter Broeckx Sometimes the international games bring us good news. And this time some of the
good news came from Africa. A lot of people have been predicting the end of the world in January as
we would be without almost half of the team because of the African Nations Cup. And yes we [...]
South African player's celebrate thinking they were through to the African Nations Cup
Finals
2010 World Cup host's South Africa were left red-faced after failing to read
the rule book on African Nations Cup qualification. Manager Pits Mosimane played for a draw against
Sierra Leone thinking a point would put them through to the finals on goal difference from Niger
who they were level on points with when in fact the Bafana Bafana needed to win because of their
head-to-head with Niger who qualified for the very first time in their history.
Gazzetta dello Sport Eto'o Inter, yes we can Moratti doesn't close the door to a loan ‘It's a
strange idea. I'd say it is 90% not going to happen' Ghana ready to ‘kidnap' Boateng for six
weeks He could say yes to the African Nations Cup. Thiago Silva is ready for Palermo. Totti jokes:
‘Reja is our derby hero' Rocchi responses with "it is Totti who is the comedian, joke fits!
I am not going to join the choir criticizing South Africa's Football Association (SAFA) or coach
for their inability to qualify to the African Nations Cup. No, instead I am going to commend the
coach, Pitso Mosimane, for his apparent strategic abilities: knowing (or thinking....) that 0-0
against Sierra Leone was enough to qualify, he decided to play on the result rather than a victory
against a
Brazil beat Gabon 2-0 in a friendly to-night on a soggy Libreville pith with goals from Sandro
and Hernanes. Let's hope the Gabon pitches hold up better to rain in February when the co-host the
African Nations Cup with Equatorial Guinea.

While Jurgen Klinsmann struggles to find wins or goals with the U.S. men's national team, the
man he replaced is ready to begin his latest coaching adventure.
Bob Bradley will coach his first game as head coach of the Egyptian National Team, which takes
on Brazil today (Noon, ESPN3.
So here we go with the madness that happens every year around the Christmas and New Year period
with games coming thick and fast. After a good point at White Hart Lane, Chelsea have a chance to
grab six points in the next few days against Villa on Saturday and Fulham today.
This afternoon is our second London derby in the space of four days and will be just as difficult
as Spurs was.
In form Tottenham Hotspurs striker, Emmanuel Adebayor, who arrived in a loan deal from
Manchester City apparently believes that his team might find a patch to catch up with City this
January, mainly because of the African Nations Cup.
Adebayor is confident that the departure of Yaya Toure along with Kolo Toure to defend their
respective country, Ivory Coast, in the upcoming competition set to be held at Gabon and Equatorial
Guinea.
Arsenal are set to lose Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh to the African Nations Cup next month, and
Arsene Wenger admitted that he would be short of options in the striking department, so naturally
there have been numerous Arsenal transfer rumours linking the Gunners with a new striker. But today
Wenger has said that he has [.

Newcastle started this season strongly, confounding critics and pundits in the process. When Andy
Carroll left for better pastures with Liverpool, everyone predicted the end of the road for
Newcastle. Alan Pardew had his detractors and now he is actually being considered to be Capello's
successor as England manager.
The Carlos Tevez saga continues to overshadow all potential transfer dealings of Manchester City in
the transfer window. City have rejected a loan offer from Milan for the want away striker while
there are rumors that Spurs might make an audacious bid for the Argentinian.
The issue of course is not the size of the transfer fee; Tottenham can afford that, but rather
Tevez's wage packet, which would break the salary structure at White Hart Lane.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has announced that former Gunners legend Thierry Henry has
re-joined the club on a two month loan deal from MLS side New York Red Bulls.
It comes as no surprise in football circles that the Frenchman has returned to his spiritual
home, having been training with the London club during the MLS off-season, but will this move make
or break the Gunners stuttering season?
Striker links with Spurs are set to increase over the next few days as it seems increasingly
likely that Roman Pavlyuchenko will be on a Rocket to Russia next month.
With Adebayor's future far from settled, this seems like a sensible time to get involved in the
transfer market and at present, there are a number of German based strikers being linked with
Premiership clubs.
It has been a while since I posted anything but I just came across these highlights of the African
Nations Cup for amputees. Field players must have only one leg, goalkeepers only one arm. Liberia
defeated hosts Ghana in a shootout in the final to earn a place at the Amputee World Cup in Iran in
2012.
