In an all-Tanzanian affair the Kagame Inter-Club Cup, a tournament for clubs from east and
central Africa, has been won by Young Africans Football Club following a narrow 1-0 victory over
arch-rivals Simba Sports Club.
The game was always going to be a close affair with Tanzania's two most decorated club sides
facing each other in the final.
Cotonsport are champions of Cameroon again
Two of Africa's top football championships have been decided in the past few days with
Cotonsport maintaining their stranglehold of the Cameroonian domestic game whilst Al Ahly did
likewise in Egypt.
Cotonsport, from the north Cameroonian city of Garoua, sealed their tenth league title in
fifteen seasons with a 2-1 win against fourth place Unisport Bafang.
When you read Samuel Eto story, you realize the big difference between the modern history of Real
Madrid and clubs like Barcelona, Ajax or Manchester United. Eto joined Real Madrid when he was 16
years old at team B, which was relegated to third tier. He spent 3 to 4 years on and off the club,
without being able to spot his talent.
Despite the lack of winners and losers in the opening round of matches in the CAF Champions
League group stages this weekend there was still plenty to shout about. The CAF Confederation Cup,
Africa's second-tier competition, almost followed suit with two of this weekend's four matches
ending in a stalemate.
Film Review by Eric Beard
Creating an appropriate balance between educating a viewer and watchability is one of the most
difficult tasks for anyone putting together a documentary, but the means in which the tragic
stories portrayed in Soka Afrika were managed kept true to an equilibrium of fine filmmaking.
Algeria won the Military World Cup at Rio De Janeiro after beating Egypt 1-0 in the final with a
goal that brought to all of the Algerians sweet memories of 1982 World Cup. The goal was almost a
replica for the most famous goal in Algerian history (against Germany).
The sad part that after the game, Egyptian star "Ahmad Eid" ignited the spark with a very dirty
kick against Algerian player and the battle started again.
A wonderful video clip about England - Ghana 1-1 friendly at Wembly by FA TV. Very nice video makes
you live the game as a player, not as a fan.
African football's two main club competitions have reached the halfway stage in the group phase.
Two teams continue to dominate in Group A of the CAF Champions League whilst Group B is a more
competitive affair. In the CAF Confederation Cup things remain tight in both groups and there is no
team who has yet laid down a marker for the rest of the tournament.

The African Champions League saw the first legs of the semi-final stage this weekend with narrow
wins for Moroccans Wydad Casablanca and Tunisians Espérance.
Wydad Casablanca, African champions back in 1992, were fearful of wasting home advantage as
their game against Nigerian champions Enyimba FC looked to be heading to a goalless stalemate.

Elephants finally cement their as yet unsecured position as one of Africa's best international

Will Uganda repeat their 2009 CECAFA Cup heroics this year?
Record champions Uganda are through to the final of the CECAFA Cup, a competition for countries
from Central and East Africa, following an extra-time victory over outgoing champions and
tournament hosts Tanzania today. Uganda will face Rwanda in the final after the latter triumphed
over Sudan in the other semi-final also played today.
Uganda have won the CECAFA Cup for the twelfth time as they needed the drama of a penalty
shoot-out to overcome the challenge of Rwanda in today's final.
Uganda became the cream of east and central African football again following a game in which all
of the goal scoring action took place in the second half of normal time.

Kashiwa Reysol and Al Sadd have booked their semi-final places in the FIFA Club World Cup
following hard fought victories over Monterrey CF and Esperance Tunis respectively.
Kashiwa, representing the host nation Japan as the 2011 J-League champions, needed a penalty

out a 1-1 draw.
Kashiwa Reysol's FIFA Club World Cup dream ended today at the hands of South American champions
Santos FC. Neymar was amongst the goals for the Brazilians as they claimed a 3-1 win against the
J-League champions whilst earlier in the day North and Central American champions Monterrey CF won
the 5th/6th place play-off, getting the better of African champions Espérance Tunis by the odd
goal in five.
Morocco will become the first African country to host the FIFA World Club Cup finals in 2013 and

The failure of Egypt, the champions of the past three tournaments, to qualify for the 2012
African Cup of Nations (ACN), alongside the absence of regional heavyweights Cameroon and Nigeria,
has thrown the tournament wide open.
The country of Rwanda hosts the CAF African Under-17 Championship from today as eight countries

Today, both teams that I have supported in the Asian Cup Quarter Final lost, yet, I was very happy.
For the first time, I watch so much competitive and excellent Asian Cup. In the past, we used to
watch only few good games in the Asian Cup. Today, seems will enjoy many games.
Japan beat Qatar after a wonderful game with five beautiful goals.
When you think of African football, a few nations come to mind first. Nigeria, Senegal, Ivory
Coast, South Africa, Togo, etc. One that would come much later down that list for most of us is
Burkina Faso. The senior side has never reached a World Cup, and aside from a 4th place finish in
1998, have never gotten past the first round of the African Cup of Nations.
Talking about a Revolution Football's role in Egypt protests is a post from: Just Football
As protests in Egypt continue and the uprising in North Africa spreads, football is playing
a key role in the Arab world's revolution. Making his debut for Just Football,

There are very few moments so transcendental in a lifetime. Today is one of them as Hosni
Mubarak stepped down as president of Egypt after 30 years of despotic rule. Bowing to an
unprecedented show of people power. It is a revolution that promises the rise of a truly
representative democracy and carries the potential of a more balanced vision of Middle East
peace.

Manchester United qualified to the CL QF with two wonderful goals, that might not take a lot of
attention as a superior goal, no stunning shot, amazing solo, or unforgettable bicycle kick. Yet,
as said: the most difficult part of the game, is when you do the most difficult moves and let them
appear as simple as "drinking water".
Samuel Eto showed yesterday why he was the only African player to be awarded as the African Player
of The Year four times, why he won Champion League 3 times (06,09,10) and why Roger Milla started
media war against him out of jealousy.
Samuel Eto inspired his team for a historical victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena when
everyone thought that Bayern is crushing the Inter.
