Gabon striker Pierre Eymerick Aubameyang has been catching the eye at the Africa Cup of Nations,
not only for his stellar performances but also for his incredibly uninhibited choice in
follicular arrangement, opting for a ginger Mohawk formation that is pitched firmly halfway
between looking 'out-bloody-rageous' and 'like the matted hair that tends to accumulate in and
around the wrong end of a dog'.
Zambia emerged as the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations champions on Sunday after defeating the heavily

Africa Cup of Nations 2012 Zambia answer the call of destiny is a post from: Just Football
In my final Africa Cup of Nations 2012 column for FourFourTwo I took a look at
Zambia's triumph on penalties in a final of incredible drama, tension and,
ultimately, joy for the Chipolopolo and despair for Côte d'Ivoire:
When he saw the shot sail wide he could take it no more.

This day in history, February 28, 2008: MLS announces Philadelphia will join the league as its

headline. More importantly, it's just a great day to remember.

Why Senegal failed at Africa Cup of Nations 2012 is a post from: Just Football

Earlier in the week the group stages of this year's Africa Cup of Nations concluded and, before
we go any further and the sadly unavoidable 'why cover this pointless tournament?/the quality's
terrible' mentality begins to set in, let me just go on record as saying that some of the
performances and matches I have seen in the past two weeks have eclipsed anything I have seen in
our beloved Premier League for a very long time.

Stamford Bridge hasn't been a pay hunting ground in the league for United in recent years, but
they look overpriced at 2.9 with Betfred to beat their arch rivals Chelsea and bag a vital three
points to maintain their title challenge.
Having played Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool in quick succession, and with Liverpool coming up
again, United are now at a crucial stage of their season having hauled themselves level on points
with Roberto Mancini's men at the top of the Premiership.
Manchester United's best chance of beating Chelsea - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
With the Manchester clubs tied on points at the top of the table and only Tottenham with an
outside chance at the title, this year's Premier League is almost guaranteed to be
Manchester-bound.
But it's not an easy road Manchester United still have City, Tottenham and Chelsea (this
weekend) away, plus Liverpool home.

One of the most pleasing aspects of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations was that two co-hosts,
Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, have both managed to qualify for the Quarter Finals... Gabon in

three games, including a 1-0 win over Tunisia which [.

Mali made it to the semifinal of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating the co-hosts Gabon on
penalty kicks. Gabon played a good match with massive home support that included Gabon's long-time
president Omar Bongo. It was an intense match where Gabon took the lead early in the second half by
Eric Mouloungui.

So Newcastle's new signing Papiss Demba Cisse and fellow Senegalese team mate Demba Ba netted
goals for the Magpies in their 2-1 home win over Aston Villa yesterday. However, whats funny is
that the same two players could not do the same for Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations.
And this is interesting because African players have a tendency to perform well for their clubs,
but when it comes to their national sides, it is a different story.

'Twas the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals over the weekend, with Ivory Coast whupping
co-hosts Equatorial Guinea 3-0 on Saturday courtesy of a brace from young Didier of Drogbashire and

When you're playing for Tunisia in extra time of an Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal against
Ghana, one thing you definitely don't want to do is make a point to elbow an opponent in the face.
As Aymen Abdennour found out after shoving Andre Ayew and then elbowing him away from the ball in
the 108th minute on Sunday (skip to the end of the video), this will earn a straight red card.

Captain John Mensah puts Ghana ahead through his third international goal. Saber Khelifa
equalized after beating Samuel Inkoom to a lofted ball. The match headed to extra time and in the

So, here we stand. Just one game away from finding out who will win the 2012 Africa Cup of

into something of a pale imitation of itself with a few drab games starting to crop up as the
stakes get higher.
