A source in MLS, being a high position staff member has revealed information about recent big
player names to the MLS. No names could be involved because of the possible job security threat it
could pose on this source.
Supposedly the MLS has been looking around at free agent type players that could add more appeal
and experience to the MLS.
Boro manager Gareth Southgate appears confident that deals will be reached that see both Mido
and Tuncay Sanli follow Stewy Downing out of the Middlesbrough exit door. Neither player travelled
with the squad to Scotland for Boro's 5-0 win over Dumbarton.

Why can everyone else see Middlesbrough's problems but Steve Gibson? Whilst his support for
Southgate is edifying, it worries me that the Chairman seems so detached from the situation Boro
are in by continuing to back Southgate over the evidence of results, performances and the fans. Yet
by backing Southgate, Steve Gibson is in danger [.
With only a week left of the January transfer window, this week has seen a flurry of transfers go
through as clubs look to add some quality to their squads for the vital second half of the season.

There was a time (last summer) when I would have welcomed Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to The Lane.
Thankfully, those days are long now gone. It was only a few months ago when we were all talking up
the lad and saying how good of a signing he would be for us. A.C. Milan fans were doing the same
thing. You should hear them now.
Michael Chopra's two goals in the final ten minutes are enough to see off Middlesbrough 2-0 at the
Stadium of Light.A game that was more frantic than metered, this was a game that took a long time
for anything to build. Yes both sides had plenty of chances (per Soccernet, 21 for Sunderland, 18
for Middlesbrough), but not many tested either Craig Gordon or Ross Turnbull.
While squinting at Saturday's stream I caught sight of a strange name on the back of one of our
players:
"ANGELA"
In the split minute it took for me to process this information ANGELA turned into HANGELAND, but
it just goes to show what your mind can do if it wants. If he weren't such a good and important
player I think it'd be a fine nickname.
A man under pressure
Gareth Southgate's Middlesbrough look al but destined for the drop after a 1-1 draw against
Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon. Sanli Tuncay scored their only goal, which was a sublime
overhead kick. But the impotence of the Boro' attack was apparent as they failed to convert one of
the many chances they fashioned.
A little over two weeks ago, the transfer window slammed shut, leaving many Boro fans
disillusioned. We had not brought in any big names. We had not brought in the fabled target man we
so desired. We had not brought in.... anyone. Hopes of keeping Tuncay and Robert Huth, and seeing
them outclass the Championship until January, vanished in an instant.

Even Gareth Southgate would have to admit that Middlesbrough won't be playing in the Premier League
next season.
Despite taken an early lead at St James' Park this evening, Boro still managed to come away with
nothing in their six-pointer with Alan Shearer's Newcastle. The result now leaves them three points
away from safety and with only two games to go, you would have to say it would take a miracle for
them to avoid the drop now.
