The UEFA Europa's League wraps up its group stage on Thursday, December 17, 2009 with the last
set of matches. The first and second place teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage
along with eight teams from the UEFA Champions League. The knockout stage begins with the round of
32 in February and concludes with the final on May 12, 2010.
The United States Soccer Federation has announced that the USMNT will take on world powerhouse
Netherlands on March 3rd in Amsterdam. Kickoff at the 51,628-seat Amsterdam Arena (home to AFC
Ajax) will take place at 8:30 p.m. local time (2:30 p.m. ET), and the match will be broadcast live
on ESPN2 and Galavision.
The UEFA Europa League has finished its group stage and the 32 teams for the knockout stage have
been decided. It includes 12 group stage winners, 12 group runner-ups, and 8 teams from the UEFA
Champions League. Thursday, December 17, 2009 was the last day of group stage matches with 12
fixtures on the schedule.
